I sure see a lot of growers have bad pH problems from re-using tubes, tanks, and pumps. NEVER re-use a tube and those pumps can hold pieces of dead root in the filters.

It is very very difficult to start seed in a plain DWC system. Matter a fact, very few growers even try. And harder than geting them up, is keeping them alive that first week until the roots hit the deep water.

Oh yeah, I have a 50ft. roll of tubing that i use to replace the tubing every grow. Blue tubing even

I pull everything on the hub apart. I do reuse everything. But I also let everything soak in a mild bleach solution AFTER a very thorough wash with a soft bristled vegetable brush and an old toothbrush. Make sure to pull every piece of the pump assembly apart and wash the crap out of the filter. I actually soak the filter in a separate cup of a higher concentration of bleach. Seems to be the main place bacteria would hide in. Then I rinse everything. At least ten times, then let it air dry in a clean sanitized room. I have a ozone generator that I will use after I scrub my room down and treat it with permethrin. I let the ozone generator run for 20 min an hour in there. It seeps into every nook and cranny in the room and kills all bacteria, virus, or mold of any type. It COMPLETELY sanitizes the air of the room. I let all my equipment (res, cover, net pots, pump, hoses I will be using for the grow) air dry in the room. I also buy new airstones, which I have to go out and get right now actually.
As a side note, the ozone generator isn't left in there. 20 mins of ozone could potentially be dagerous for the plant if its in too close proximity to the ozone outlet. Although I was thinking, If you were to have a pythium problem I bet that if you bubbled ozone through the water it would kill all the bacteria and not harm the plant. As long as you only did it once or twice. for about 10 min.

I'm using GH flora grow, do I have to use micro? Aren't the micro nutrients already in there?

I make sure i use a strong dose of any FLUSH to clean all that out..but i NEVER use the same tubes..Works pretty good for me.

yes, you want to use Micro. The Grow is really only N-P-K. If you look on the back of the bottle or on the General Hydroponics website, you can find all of their mixing recommedations. Here's a link to a mixx guide:

Most strains you can guess the sex by preflowers during veg, as long as they're old enough to have preflowers. It varies a lot by strain. My WW mom shows it clearly, but none of the others do. You can never know for certain off of pre flowers though. The only way to know for sure is to flower the plant or a clone off of it. Once switched to 12/12, you can almost always tell within 3 weeks.

hey guys have a question for ya... i use advanced nutes, and every time i put in the micro as soon as it hits the water it turns to a film. not all of it but a lil bit of it dose. anyways is this normal?

Are you adding your micros before or after your base nutes?

all nutes should be diluted, stirred and blended well in water before adding them to the reservoir.

Oh yea, ya definitely have to mix the nutes first.

For me it's.
Fresh gallon: add micro, shake the shit out of. Add Base A, shake the shit out of. Add Base B, shake the shit out of...and so on.

BUBBLEHEADS know how to grow!

So I got home from work today and my res smelled like straight-up shit. Changed out the water and PHed it, but they're still only being given water. The mail man is not fast enough. While I was clearing out the old water I noticed a lot of floaty stuff in there, some of it got stuck in the pump screen and the smaller bits got stuck the in feeder tubes. This is the downfall of trying bubbleponics with peat pellets.

i am happy to say that my babies have arrived i am the proud father of 2 fem northern lights/ imhoping the 2 skunk x haze will pop soon started them 2 days after these using the same formula germ from seed with the peat pots slow water until i see a head and then put them right into dwc unit with water 3/16 inch from bottom of basket i do have my unit running bubbles everywhere for some but not much moistier i watered peat with light solution of super thrive and 6.0 ph they have been under lights since the first leaf popped up..thanks to all first dwc... peace pot prosperity pics are not great dont do justice for my girls they look very good..better pics once i figure out this new camera my wife got for me.. 5 days from seed.. today
