Is there a big difference between 301b chips and
Epistar 2835 chips??

I was gonna get a 240w board with 2835 chips coz it’s 50pound cheaper will the be okay for flower? 3000k +660nm

Epistar: comes in a very wide range of qualities, some of them being at least good. Problem is assuring the quality. Better get something else unless you are sure or can test it reliably first

I ended up going for 2 x 240w 301b chips with a 3000k 660nm, thanks man. Hopefully the summer temps go down now.

My dad rescued 2 of these from the bin today at work

150w each with some nice extruded heatsinks. Both working.

And 1 of these

.

They are factory lighting, but I think they're both 3500k and seem to be putting out a nice intense spread. Dunno what I'm doing with them yet as I've got more cobs and QB's than I can shake a stick at. But I do know they aren't cheap.

Sweet for nothing. Winner winner chicken dinner !20200508_171335.jpg20200508_171330.jpg20200508_171314.jpg

Well, you should certainly out strips that are more than 135lumens/W. That's pretty bad. Those sinks are beefy. How wide is the area the strips sits on? You could maybe use Fstrip single rows.

Each strip is roughly 56mm wide. I could even mount fans in a push / pull on each end of the cavity. They both have Phillips drivers in aswell.

What width is the top flat side? I think that's a better side to use honestly. The fins would be facing upwards and dissipate heat much better. You could use DOUBLE row F Strips on that side no problem. Maybe even 2.

Single row:

Double row:
