The Chinese Quantum Board Knock Off Builds

Alright guys I could use an opinion. I'm building a 2x1.4m flower room but only using 2x1m for the plants and this is what I want to cover. I got 8 heatsinks 500x195x10mm, 26 30x400mm SunBoard strips from Mufue each hosting 96 lm561c and 2 hlg 320h-c1050b drivers.

I'll have 6 heatsinks with 3 strips each (equals 288 board) and 2 heatsinks with 4 strips. So I'm building 2 individual 320w units with 13 strips each (3+3+3+4 strips)

I was thinking of laying them out like this:

Would that make for even enough coverage? I'm thinking the 300x300mm hole in the middle of each unit should get saturated enough from overlapping
I think it's a good idea!

Idk if @JSheeze ever got his done, but I think he was after something similar..

Yeah seems pretty much the same layout just double the boards and power. Really don't see the reason why would he want to run almost 60w/sqrf tho.
Ya I'm not sure exactly, but it looks like only 37.5w/ft2? 600w ÷ 16

More panels = bigger pain in ass, haha but came across and just thought I'd throw it out there...

Curious, why the 4 strips on one side over the 3 like the others?

Yeah didn't actually do the math.

I'm hooking 13 strips to each hlg320 to max out the driver. Also there will be slightly bigger gap between both units so thought it would be most effective placing them like that.

Nice!

Just some thoughts...
I'm not sure but I think having 4 on one side might create uneven light density. Maybe using 4 on each panel, or perhaps removing the extra one from each (13) strip set and using the extras for a middle light strip to even the spread a bit more? Or possibly line up 11 in parallel to each other and then slap the last 2 on the top and bottom as end caps. Just some other ideas. I really like the hollow center style though, good luck with whatever you decide!

Also I've been thinking about shifting the lights-on schedule to night hours. Is moving one hour ahead per day fine or is it too late/risky halfway through 12/12? If possible I would have at least a couple of degrees to play with...
Read a bit more and keeping the lights off for 24 hours appears to be a better approach than doing it over nearly two weeks.

Just curious if anyone has taken a 2 panel 250W qb kingbrite and cut the heatsink in half to spread the panels out a bit to get better coverage to the outside of an area? i can't see why it would be an issue.. just want to double check...

It's just a heatsink, use anything to cut it. I suggest you take the boards off first to do it though as filings can cause short circuits if they end up on the boards.

Yeah.. was no biggy.. no idea why i even posted, sometimes i like to just talk out load before doing shit :) ended up using a 6" cutoff wheel worked fine.. and used rubber gloves handling the boards so i don't oil up the leds with my human stuffs.....

Hey icetech! that ended up looking great! Can I ask how big is the grow space you are using? I am wanting to set up a 3x3 space but not too sure what that looks like.
Thanks!

That is a 4x2 Apollo tent (only putting the brand cause i was surprised how good it is.. my second tent i a ohuru i think and holy crap it's soooo bad...) i only plan on doing 2 plants and not buying massive lights (i'm cheap) so the 4x2 is perfect for that.. the second tent is for vegging clones while i flower my 2 mains..

Couldn't agree more on Apollo tents. They're such a good deal
