The city calling my house at 1:15 am

I was just smoking a joint in my apt. , and then the phone rang all good but when I checked the call display it said city of _____ then the number weird I didn't answer. yes I have girls in my apt only week 1 bud .

Just be aware.. all a cop needs is to "smell" something illegal going on and they have reasonable suspicion to enter or get a search warrant and enter on their own. I live in a similar situation as you and smoke in a room far away from my doorway so any smells do not go into the hallway. Gotta be careful man.

You should have answered it because now you're going to be freaking out and it could have been over nothing. Now, you may never know.....

If you grow and cops show up at your door... DO NOT ANSWER IT. If they have a search warrant they will just come in and say it. It will be the first thing they say. If they dont say it, they dont have one but dont answer and get ready to take ur shit down real quick and hide.

Every once in awhile they state police call for donations. But it starts with Hello this is the state police this call is being recorded, can we speak to NeL. My jaw drops evertime.

This may sound stupid to some of you but has long has you are set up in the right way ie carbon filters and all the other gizmo's that come with growing now days then always answer the phone and the door.Just be pleasent to who ever is at the door or on the phone and you will seem less likely to be looked into.I have everything on bundges so there is no sound the fan i re new every 6 month's all though you can re oil and the fan will work fine.But i have found but most noise comes from the ossalateing fans that is why i like to re new so often.Just have the door closed to the room where the girls are and there should be no noise at all.If some one comes to the door turn the tv up a bit louder than normal this will muffle any sounds that the g room will be putting out.....................tyke......................................................................

You dont have to open door tyke and they cant do anything about that. Not opening the door will not give them probable cause, and with this day and age with all the cops trying to be robocop I wouldn't. Do you have any idea how many arrests and "mini raids" are being made by opening your door. Cops use a maneuver called "knock and talk" where they can either convince you to let them inside your house. Or even in some case where the cops kinda put their foot in the door and force themselves in. I know thats illegal right? Well who is the court gonna believe, a couple police officers or the person that just got busted with 100 plants in their house? If your gonna get busted your gonna get busted. If your growing in an apartment and didn't take the much needed precautions (especially the smell) well then your gonna get what you have comming to you. Theres only a few ways you will get busted.

1.The smell
2.You act like a giddy school girl and go around telling your friends bout your show
3.Your show catches on fire
4.Did I mention SMELL?

Getting a call on your caller ID saying "city of ______" does not mean its the cops/gov. I used to get that all the time on my caller ID. Theres something you dial on your phone before you dial the number your trying to reach that will "mask" your number (kinda like a IP spoofer online). It can also be from other places (schools and what not). TBH I think ya jumped on the paranoia train a little early era.

If they have a warrent im sure you know it dosent matter if you answer the door or not, they will CLEARLY come in regarless lol. this made me laught

when the police come they wont call first
so not answering the call only made you more noid
you should've answered it
it not like if they where calling before the raid that if you didn't answer they where going say "ok guys, he's not home lets just come back and do this some other time"

When the police don't they use a blocked number? "Unknown" or "Blocked" will show up on caller ID...

Also I never open my door unless I know a package is coming for me or I know who is out there. Guess I`m a little paranoid but Fuck em.

Yea I would not sweat it unless some law enforcers comes knocking with a warrant in which case you have no other choice. Did the OP say he only had 1 plant? Dude you are small potatoes most law enforcement in the states are treating M as a low priority misdemeanor. Leading to mostly a ticket and a slap on the wrist. Those growing thousands of plants are probably more focused on than some pot head in his mid-income apartment. Get an ionizer or place a piece of fabric softener over a toilet paper roll tube with a rubber band and blow your outgoing smoke through it. Filters the smell and gives you a bit more peace of mind. Paranoid ass! In Cali my apt landlord lady caught me smoking and tried to shove her way into my apartment. I told her I was calling the cops if she dared tried and enter and I told her to F' off. She said she was going to call the police, but she never did. I actually think she wanted to smoke some. LOL She was cool with me afterward and we never spoke of it again. Sometimes things seem worse than they really are. Hopefully the DEA and FBI will soon realize MM is not crack or meth and leave us alone.

just a quick thing on saying its not crack or meth does a great disservice to the drug legalization front...all drugs should be lagalized for there is no victim when drugs are used---vices are not crimes and should not be punished as such.
