half of the people in the US make less than 35,000 per year in personal income. Half of the people in this country can talk glowingly about how "easy" it is to save when they make more than that.

29% of all present jobs are gig employment spots. 36% of people working work in gig jobs hold at least one more job.

40% of American families cannot cover an unforeseen financial hit of $500 while 65% cannot cover $1000. If 40% can’t cover $500 it’s obvious to a blind wino that this “miracle economy with record low unemployment” is nothing more than another transfer of wealth upwards. Any concerns voiced gets you tagged as a loser.
we may have record low unemployment but we also have the lowest participation rate of any industrialized nation. many people have given up looking for work.the decline of the middle class and the transfer of wealth to the top 1% has been going on for 40 years and shows no sign of slowing https://getpocket.com/explore/item/this-cartoon-explains-how-the-rich-got-rich-and-the-poor-got-poor. we have become an imperialist, fascist nation and are slowly turning into a third world country.unfortunately we have no power to change that

...after reading and accepting these statistics, what amazes me is how people can still think EITHER party is interested in turning this around! Both parties have had their chances over the last 40 years, yet both have reaffirmed their obeisance to wealthy elites by enacting laws to increase wealth and income inequality rather than work to limit it.

The flaw in their logic is that eventually this destroys the nation's consumer base and along with it, prosperity.

We do but theres laws prohibiting it. The hoi polloi better hope we don’t decide en masse to say screw the law like Trump does.

Those hoi polloi are us: the common people. We're the ones who need to get out in the street.

Londoners are currently protesting Trump more than most Americans do!
I've agreed with you completely 10 times recently.

Thank you for taking a break from the meth pipe.

Lol Are you sure you're feeling all right?

The arc of my commentary hasn't changed much. Maybe it's your perspective that's changed?

In any case, I appreciate our ongoing civil conversation. The goal for me is to always keep learning.

I'm sorry you're crippled. Getting old is a privilege denied to many- especially those in our armed forces who die to guarantee profits for a multinational who cares nothing for them or their family.

That said, collapses can happen fast... There's still time if we don't pull out heads out of our asses!

Or those forced into prostitution by slavers like yourself who come to a violent end.

More construction workers die each year than military personnel.

In fact, the military doesn't even make the top 10 when it comes to dying on the job.
