The earth is not flat and it is not round. The moon is actually rounder than earth because it 's being constantly pounded from all angles by particles rounding the edges. Earth is protected currently, so it has mountains and collision mounds. The atmosphere protects home from being bombarded by these meteorites and micrometeorites leaving the protruding mounds.
