The History of Northern Lights

I grew the NL#2 and it was just okay. It has a unique...I'd say almost roasted-peanut aroma. I guess the #5 is the one that everybody decided was the best. Of course, I had to be different and choose the one that was more mysterious....mistake.

Has anyone tried AK bean brains Northern lights or any of his nl crosses?
You've probably already seen my posts on the AK thread, but if you haven't, I have some pictures on that thread. I am loving the NL1 so far, vigorous, great structure, and an intoxicating smell. I haven't harvested yet so I can't comment on the taste or potency, I'll leave a comment on the AK Bean Brains thread after I harvest and get a chance to smoke them. Have I mentioned the smell? It's strong, you can smell it as soon as you go outside, my neighbors stop me and tell me, unsolicited, how great it smells.
I am also growing AK's 89NL and it's taking longer, needs much more support, and is prone to breakage. The 89 NL just doesn't seem to like my growing environment, indoor growers or outdoor growers in a different climate may have better results. Haven't harvested the 89 NL yet either so who knows it could be amazing smoke but it doesn't look as good or smell as strong.

The #5 is the best yielder the #1 is the best to smoke imo the 2 is nice too just the #1 it aint a big yielder thats why the #5 was most popular also the 5x2 nl incross was the best hybrid of nl types nevil could make in his opinion from what he had also the other thing to remember is its made using nevils cut and the #5 most of the world knew and loved vs the usa nl cos it varied alot more nevils cut was more indica for sure and thats the nl everyone wants

I have a friend who went to Holland in the early 1990's.
He came home with some top strains from Sensi.
He has Skunk x NL 2, and NL#5 x Haze, among others. He visited me to provide some buds containing seed from my Bubba Haze male. He told me they were crossed with NL. After some time, he admitted that it was the early NL, which was NL#1,...and he still has seeds.
Anyway, the Bubba Haze x NL seeds have some variation, but all have a dominant lime scent, fwiw.

Well bubba kush already has nl1 or 2 in it anyway as the strain the called bubba hermed on to the og to make it was a nl of some kind and it has to be one of the more indica ones so aye the #1 or#2

That's why The Breeders Syndicate decided to document the stories while most of the original players are alive.
