Y'all high...some of the best genetics has come out of Florida..tn..ga..al and some great breeders to..soma ,subcool,and rare dankness..and if it ever goes legal down here..you gonna see a boom in different hybrids of kushs..I'll be honest most of the growers down here don't even have internet...and I'd believe high times before I believe a name dropper..he'll the whole cypress hill crew..agreed with the story...fuck that's a lot of people...I guess subcool didn't create Jack the Ripper...or th seeds didn't create tha hog..that's been around Tennesse since I was a kid...I agree Cali had kushs back then...but not till the 90s did they have 0g...

You know I buy into the High Times being full of shit on a lot of things and could see how you could feel that way.....but here's the thing:

When I moved out west I was fortunate enough to come across someone growing OG and Bubba. I was growing like casey jones WW, blue cheese just like a kid in a candy store you know just trying everything.....the dude growing OG and Bubba you know I didn't think much of it all year I had no clue what Bubba or OG was.....just another guy growing plants like me......that is till harvest and I smoked both and I was like fuuuuuuuuuck....especially the OG.....I mean my plants all turned out awesome and dank, real medicinal but it was very obvious this Bubba and OG was medicine of the highest order.

So I was gifted the Bubba to play around indoors with as I was still a newb and the indica would be easier and it was.
I was gifted the OG and it was a bitch to grow.
I was told I am not allowed to gift clones of these....out of respect I didn't.
Dude said he'd been growing these a long time like 20 years iirc......I was told the Bubba was an OG cross......and that the Bubba and OG came from "Bubba".....no mention of where he came from FLA or otherwise.......
Only later did I look it up and come across High Times History of BK..........so that's why I lean that way.

Of course the grower I got them from could have been making that up but what a coincidence eh?

To this day that OG is the dankest shit I have ever medicated with.

I've enjoyed both Pre 98 Bubba and a very similar version smoke wise from a few years earlier claimed clone. Also have had many amazing OG cuts to smoke. They are legendary and prized for good reason, they are amazing strains, havent sourced clones, but could play the clone game here in Michigan if I felt like being ripped off, waiting 9 weeks to 10 for what otherwise should be pitched or be blessed with the joy of terrible, evil fucking mites of some kind or another.

Hell I've got crosses, grown out their S1s. I've got no cat in this game, I simply enjoy these strains for being recognized, available, and creating new crosses. The lineage would be nice but we cant have nice things without others trying to claim it was there's.

Yet Bubba Kush being a relative to chem doesn't seem like much of a stretch at all and Chem being the maternal side of OG seems very obvious with terms of potency, terp expression..

All OG s I've grown have been little princess divas in a way. Finicky in one manner or another.

Anyways no internet beef with ya, all here for the same reason, I just find high times to be a terrible rag of questionable quality. Gotta say I wish I knew better old school growers. It's the wild west in Michigan, with everyone trying to sell you a bridge or say they have the real deal (which most of the time alas they do not). Oddly other clones I seem to have a reliable access to, usually the flavor of the week, I regret not grabbing golden goat when I had a chance.

No beef for sure bro its just the story I heard irl before I cared to google it, no worries....its the internet and we're all just shootin the shit.

Yea the Chem and OG share a few similarities. Bubba, if it was a BX of Afghanistan, I could see that a bit as well. Seen a lot of grow logs but nothing beats first hand experience with a strain.

Bubba76 is supposed to be crossed with another badass Afghani....if you read up on Emerald Triangle the story goes they just selfed all this dudes shit but the gear was supposed to be amazing......reading about that made me understand why ppl hoard their gear.
