The ins and outs of Radiation treatment.

I don't want to appear ignorant, but I am looking for first hand experiences of radiation treatment for the big C. A close family member has just undergone surgery to remove cancer and has been told that they will need this. My self appointed job is to live with/help this person once treatments starts and I am hoping someone whom has gone through this can tell me what I can expect.
I understand that fatigue is a major issue, but how long does it linger? Larger doses make things worse I would assume. Is there a standard dosage/regime that they stick with or does it vary greatly?
What types of foods are most appealing?
My family and I have been fortunate so far not to have been touched by life threatening Cancer, but now its personal.
I don't have any experience here and I seriously don't even know what I should be asking.
Thanks.

RESULTS: The overall contribution of curative and adjuvant cytotoxic chemotherapy to 5-year survival in adults was estimated to be 2.3% in Australia and 2.1% in the USA.

I would start researching into "alternative treatments", more like the cure. Well, not exactly the cure since cancer is a deficiency disease.

My mother once had breast cancer and now she no longer does.

I am sorry to hear about the situation and wish all involved you and yours the best. maybe this vid will offer some alternate ideas to what your probably being told. I'm not saying this is anything better than other options just that it's allways better to examine all posible options and look at things from all perspectives. All my best

Hey bro, have you tried looking stuff up on the internet, or checking out books?

I'm sure there's a butt tonne of stuff about people in your situation.

People see their loved ones going through treatments and they want to see how they can help.

Props to you for seeking information

damn..sony music or umg blocked that youtube clip from my country (korea)...i wanted to see what it was.

i wish the best for you guys. when i found out my mom had cancer it really fucked me in the ass hard. it was out of nowhere. but it helped in a lot of ways. i hope you and your family can find the good in this (not trying to be a dick) and help make you guys stronger.

please research thoroughly before you guys make the next decision - especially when it comes to radation/chemo and going under the knife. if i could give my two cents and opinion, i'd say don't and never. but that's just me.

Thanks for the info guys - I'm def looking around, gaining knowledge so I can be prepared.
Poon - No Chemo thank God, from what I understand they make a body form for you to lay in & then you get the treatment while getting a CT scan.
Fingers crossed !

Thats intresting that they block it, its called run from the cure the rick simpson story, it talks about eating a bunch of hash oil as a cure for cancers and ailments and also rubbing it on skin cancers. I believe that it might cure some cancers and certinly must help ease pain and I beleive that rick has sucessfuly treated people who had cancer. I also think the film makes it seem more efective a cure than it probably is and potrays it as a very effective cure all.
