The Lost Art of Foliar Feeding

i just started to try foliar spray for kicks. I made up a concotion and sprayed it on my house plants and they took the hell off. Foliar spraying is also the fastest way to deliver nutes to your plants and is good for correcting deficiency. Also it is good to establish healthy microganisms on your leaves to keep bad ones away.
we all just have to be careful as the more we foliar feed the more the plant doesnt need its roots and it will get 'too used' to recieving nutes thru their leaves, plants get lazy too! mix it up between foliar and root feeding!!!!

I think you're just another cross-eyed noob. How 'bout that?!

Well I guess you're entitled to your opinion. You're probably right. It takes many years of experience in growing before any worthwhile results can be achieved. I should've checked myself before stepping to your majesty. Please accept my humblest of apologies. My crossed eyes must've been responsible for my plants looking better. That's the only explaination. Thanks UB! :)

Yep, it's all relative. IOW, it's about about plant requirements, nutritional needs, dependent on growth rate. A grower's first focus should be on providing nutrients to the root system, as nature intended it to be.

No, I don't suffer fools lightly. Check out the YouTube a member posted, it hits "popular" thought right between the eyes LOL. https://www.rollitup.org/advanced-marijuana-cultivation/267989-uncle-bens-gardening-tweeks-pointers-39.html

Speaking of organics, I just picked up a truckload (literally) of a friend's compost and got the analysis back from the Aggie bio-solids department. What a frickin' excellent profile! 13-5-8 NPK with the proper amounts of Ca, Mg, Zn,Fe and the other micros. This is what every grower, cannabis or otherwise, should seek - someone you can trust where you can buy a lot of compost cheap, and it's quality stuff because of what goes into, and I'm not talking Eye of Newt or some other crap like electrolytes. If you have a pickup and/or trailer and someone with a horse farm they'll load you up for free, just to get rid of the chit.

Way to much nitrogen but again uncle ben likes to hammer nitrogen in flowering which is not a good thing i foilage feed 3 days after everywatering and it all comes down to nature look at the rain forests there lush and green from rain plants need intake from both ends
and if you dont realize it your blind to the fact
oh and ben relax dude your not a growing god i got 5 pounds per 2 and a half lights then again i run more power on my exhaust side them most peeps run for light power

Wait, are you implying that rain = foliar feeding, and thus contains nutrients?

Anyone that thinks Foliar feeding dont work, make things better, ect, is a fucking idiot.

Plants love gettin wet, and havin a dose of nutes in there, they love it even more.

I have a degree in crop science and use foliar feeding plus traditional granular in my aggricultural set ups. They are far more effecient in the delivery of the nutrients because they are delivered from the stomata directly into the cells in the leaves. This process skips the energy raping process of moving the nutrients from the roots to the shoots. Pick up a plant physiology book and it will be a little clearer. It is dangerous if your not careful, but ideal when done correct.

sounds like you have some knowledge, would you mind sharing it? can you please expand on how to do it correctly, so as to avoid the "dangers"

Where did ya get that degree from, Advanced Shyster's Online Continuing Education courses? Most times I don't react to a lot of the crap that's posted around here, but this hits a nerve. You're a 1 post forum poser that doesn't know squat, especially when it comes to the "hows" regarding the movement of salts and water across the root epidermal gradient. There is no such thing as an "energy raping process". Nah sah..... just the process of leaf transpiration, capillary action, and positive or negative cell turgor pressure via osmosis.

The "danger" of applying salts via leaves in addition to root uptake may result if the grower induces a nutrient antagonism affect and/or provides too much salts for the plant's requirements, which will show up in leaf tip/margin burn or curl, long internodes, chlorosis, etc.

A wise man once said:

Now hand that keyboard back to your big brother and go to bed.

You're just wrong. That's it. Plain & simple............. Instead you quickly disreguard my findings as placebo. Guess what? I don't care. You're not gonna be convinced, because you see yourself as expert. And you may be. I am the last thing from an expert, as I am on my first grow..

If I was someone on my very first grow, I would be smart enough to listen to people that know TONS more than I do......Ben knows what he is talking about.

I know a caregiver that has a masters degree and is a "master gardener", dude know his shit up and down. He has taught me tons of stuff that kind of flies in the face of what i thought I had learned over 20+ years of growing. Thats kind of the thing man, if you care to learn it is an endless path.

Gotta free your mind, your ass will follow :-)

I didn't get too far up bens ass with this shit. I know he knows his shit. What he didn't know was how MY plants reacted to foliar feeding. I don't much care for the "I've been doing this longer than you, therefore I'm a better grower than you" ideology. I jumped straight into HPA on my first grow, because I did my homework. Most of it anyway. As soon as you finish building, you realize there's a better way. My results have been fenomemal thus far.

I tried spraying my plants with nutrient enriched water. Upto this point, they had never received any nutrients or even water through their leaves. After 2 days the plant was noticably healthier. Jus sayin.

foliar feeding, tried it bit at a time. didnt really ever see the point. plants also breathe through their leaves, so basically foliarfeeding means you also have to clean the leaves later.
