I wanna show you pictures but I'm gonna wait till I have something beautiful to show. I think you're going to be surprised/proud. Thank you again for the plethora of information that you have put at my figertips. It will not be forgotten.

With that being said... QUESTION: When do you start to work some branches to the center?

ok so here are some new pics of my first mainline. She only has four tops because i didnt plant her till july but i had to try my hand at mainlining. so let me know what you think and any advice it welcome. she is just a bagseed and is four weeks into flower.

Very nice Budologist sure wish i was able to grow outdoors (maybe one of these days ) but not getting my hopes up as i live smack dab in the middle of the bible belt!

Well, it's been 5 days since I posted up those Cheese Quake pictures, and the plants have really taken off!

I'm planning to do my first mainline topping tonight, but first I have a question... Would it be best to top right after a watering, right before, or some other time? Does it even make a differene? They will need water tomorrow. My thought is that I think cutting them today while the pot is dry-ish might be better because they won't drink much right after being topped.

Thoughts?

I also tried doing a late veg Main-line, seemed to work out quite well. She's been in her finishing pot for about a week.

Hi Nugs and company,

Here are my mainlined Mulanje with their Brazilians:




They seem to be just fine with the change and are still putting on weight. These were my mistake plants that I set aside while I concentrated on the MozPoz but that turned out to be male and now I am trying to play catch-up with these ladies. My tomato cages are too short to add now so I will use bamboo stakes if/when they need support. The Mulanje freebie has a slight hint of skunk. None of my other plants had that trait.

I just thought I'd share a couple before/after pics of my Cheese Quakes I just started main-lining. I'll be taking the branches from the bottom node for clones in a few days when they grow out a little more.

Nugs - I assume I want to let my top two branches grow a little bit before the next topping, then top and cut the bottom branches at the same time to minimize stress?

yep, when your lower 2 are ready to clone...that is when you prune for 4...looks like about 5-7 days.....by then they will have some nice roots, and they will recover quickly....they look great...

you could, but the way the canna plant is designed, that particular fan leaf powers the growth of the axial stem of the clone....(maristem of clone)....so i just take them off, because i don't think they are doing much if the axial stem is removed....make sense?;-)
