I've only done the 'full' mainlining once and it took too long in veg for my needs. I've experimented this time, following the mainlining technique for 2 toppings and spreading out with just a little LST, then, just letting them get on with it.

Not quite as neat and tidy as a full 'manifold', but knocked 2-4 weeks off veg time this way, suppose it'll work better with some plants than others and knowing the stretch characteristics of the plants before flowering would help too(these were all a bit of a mystery)
Edit.............I think it's important to cut after the 3rd node on both toppings to do it this way and I think I should have been more extreme with the LST, just to spread the base of the plants a little more.
