Child molestation is not a victimless crime so what should we do with them if not prison? Murderers as well we can't really just hang everyone accused right off as many turn out to be innocent.

Agree but defining rights is already at the root of intractable issues. Unless there is an extremely relevant incentive for collective development and prosperity we'd see the same shit being dealt out by entrenched oligarchs.

I am not ignoring anything. I am stating what I read from a portion of the trial.

There was a video. Are you ignoring the video?

Someone called the cops and said someone was waving and pointing a gun. The cops didnt decide to cruise around looking for people, they were responding from a call from a concerned citizen.

When they arrived, they saw an individual pulling what looked like a handgun from his waistband.

The VIDEO shows that at the time he was shot, that was what Tamir was doing. Probably to show the cops it was fake because he was scared but all the cops saw was someone pulling a gun.

Now, what did the expert witness say that altered the video which could be watched in slow motion and enhanced to show every detail without bias?

Certainly not shootings of unarmed children they could have handled that situation much better like ducked down by the engine block and ordered him to drop the toy...

Then I guess my next question would be, How often to they pay $6 million settlements in police shootings that are deemed "justified"?

I doubt the cops would have killed the kid if they had known it was a fake gun but cops are not required to risk their lives by getting shot at first.

FYI, 3 cops murdered in Louisiana, 4 wounded this morning. This isnt making it better.

If you cant diffuse the most benign of situations you should work with rodents or tropical fish.Think about it if you sent 100 men to that situation who weren't cops but were armed how many of them would turn out to be deranged bitches???? The video deemed that Tamir Rice was pulling a gun. That is why the cops were not prosecuted.

The intent was not to kill a black kid but make the community safe based on a call from a concerned citizen.

When you pull a gun on a cop you are going to get shot, not negotiated with.

That is simply a fact of life no matter how mad it makes you. It did not have to do with color or the character of the kid, it was his actions that unfortunately got him shot and killed.

It is a tragedy.

I didnt shoot anyone. Why do you feel such rage at me?

I didnt decide the cops were not going to be prosecuted, that was part of the legal system. Again, I am not responsible.

I didnt allow my child out of the house with a fake handgun. Maybe you should be angry with his parents because he was not my responsibility at the time he was shot and killed.

Maybe you should be mad a the kid for being stupid enough to get himself killed. 12 years old is not an infant, he was in 6th grade, he knew what a gun was.

7 cops were just shot in Louisiana with 3 being killed. This is not going to make things better.

The difference is the cops didnt intend to kill that kid. They did intend to kill that 4 time felon with a gun in his pocket he was reaching for. But again, not because his skin color, because he was a criminal reaching for a weapon.

Until we focus on the problem (the war on drugs - which creates gangs, and violence on a mass scale) and other laws against citizens then we are not going to see a de escalation of the violence on either side.

We both want the same thing but you keep treating me like the enemy.

Only a few of them. These then need to be disabused of this notion in no uncertain terms, starting with getting fucking fired for incompetence and any ongoing pattern of abuse of their position.

The notion that cops should stick together in the face of public questions needs to be drummed out, replaced with professionalism and the unwillingness to tolerate any bad apples in their ranks.
