I have thought for a while about trying a full 12 month grow cycle on some plants starting them indoors and then putting them outdoors in order to maximize yield and compare the size and quality to previously harvested sister plants. This will be my journal to record the journey...
Number of Plants and types of Strains:
One Cinderella 99 Clone
Two GrandDaddy Purple Clones
Two Super Skunk/Sour Desielx Northern Lights #7 Clones
I am calling this day 1 because its the first day of the journal, and its too difficult to figure out all the different cutting days etc. because they are different.
Here is some info about this grow:
A.)The Clones were all taken with rooting gel and put into rockwool cubes (and all rooted in 5 days).
B.)After rooting, the clones were all buried 1/2" down in Fox Farm Ocean forest in different size pots and put with the rest of the indoor plants.
C.)As of now they are all growing under 4 foot tube fluorescents with some 23 watt CFL's added for a little extra light.
D.)I will be putting them under a Metal Hallide the first chance I get (probably around October)
E.) My indoor set up is not the cleanest smoothest setup, so I need to work on it, there are pest problems at the moment that I need to take care of as well... though the selected Clones are not showing signs of pest damage.
F.) I plan to transplant them two more times, once into bigger pots, and again into the ground in the early spring in 2009. The Ground will be prepped by digging 8'w by 8'l by 10' deep holes and mixing then mixing 50% Fox Farm Ocean Forest, 25% Local soil, 10% Horse Manure, 5% All organic mix of Worm Castings and bat Guano, 7% half and half Perlite & Harvest & Bloom, 1% all natural and fresh wood ash from wood burning stove, and 2% Dolomite Lime.
G.) I will line the holes with 1 layer of black landscaping cloth and about 3 layers of metal chicken wire to keep the gophers out and help retain water.
H.) I will be using mostly Fox Farm and Earth Juice Nutrients during the indoor veg and 45 days after they are put into the ground (or when they show they need it), though I may add to the menu later on, especially during flowering.
I.) Support posts will be pre set into the ground about 10' tall from base in 5'x5' squares, and the plants will be put in a place that will maximize sun exposer.
O.K. so here are some pics to help understand exactly where things are at:
Pic #1: this is a current picture of the Cinderella Mother which was started from seed. I will post pics here again of her right before and after I harvest her.
Pic #2: This is a current picture of the GDP Mother, which is a Clone herself, and I will post more pics just like the Cinderella.
Pic #3: This is a current picture of the SS/SDxNL#7 Mother which is also a clone ( Super Sour Desiel Lights), and I will post more pics just like the other mothers.
Pics #4+5: This is the Cinderella 99 Clone that I have selected for this grow.
Pics #6+7: These are the GDP Clones that I have selected for this grow.
Pics #8+9: These are the "Super Sour Desiel Lights" Clones that I have selected for this grow.
Pic #10: This picture shows the current growing environment for the Clones. This picture is to show the environment only, the plants have been rearranged and moved around, only the lights are in the same place, and there is a small 6" fan circulating air in the room that you may not be able to see. I do not necessarily regulate temperatures or Humidity, though I do the best I can to keep them in a range agreeable to the plants.
Ok, feel free to comment on this grow, and enjoy the ride. I will be trying to keep a very good log on this one, to study later and use for reference. Any and all input is valued and appreciated, so thank you all very very much in advance.
