A rod in 1 hand and a fishing pole in the other what could be better. It would have been nice to have had the day off but it was the late afternoon tide so I made it to the river with time to spare. Already deeply in love with my 7.5 ft light action Saint Croix stick. A box of top water plugs with a fatty tucked in with the treble hooks. Two nice 25 inch fish but no keepers. Was hoping to slide a fresh one onto the grill whole with just a little EVOO, salt and black pepper but wasn't meant to be
Stopped and visited a Super Silver on the way. She is a beautiful plant but I fear the frost is going to get her before I do. Note to self make sure you plant a variety that will finish before winter. What a moron....
It must be slicker than snot on glass to be able to trade cuttings. You guys don't know how lucky you are. Trade you a Danny Boy for a Gibbs. WTF.

Oh trust.. I know how lucky I've become. I try and help to reciprocate this luck by doing what I can to help others.

Man Rotted, I wish I'd have seen anything today that big! Only a handfull of smallmouth bass that ranged from 4" to 16", and a bunch of perch and sunfish... But sometimes it's not about the catch, as you well know. The breezes, the birds chirping, insects buzzing and whirring.. The sound of water lightly making its way in the world. The feeling of swinging that perfect cast, and landing it exactly where you'd envisioned.. These can be more fulfilling than the catch.

Hope your girl makes it for ya! Tell you what, I'll send this heat your way and then we can both have a decent fall..

Do ya have any indoors ? At your latitude, it would behoove one to have an indoor setup as well..

Thanks for dropping in! See ya round

My philosophy is spread the love... I don't even need a trade for cuts... i put faith that the other person will return the favor when they can... also i like to have a copy elsewhere in case of disaster :)

ooh nice... i sooooo been lookin for a change of pace :) i got a nice new pipe this week (tobacco style) and decided to get a torch today instead of lighter (deeper bowl)... having fun tonight, but now gotta do a lil work... ugh! yeah i'm gonna do what i can before you come but there's a lot i won't be able to do without a good saw for the side/front supports. I'll get the base/vertical supports going and drill some of the holes in advance so it'll go fast once we get to sawing... if you got a drill bring it i got one but might go faster with 2? I gotta clean the garage out first thing in the morning too so it's clear for construction :)

Owl my man the catch is without a doubt secondary to all of the things you speak of and more. If we fished to feed ourselves I for one would be awful hungry more days than not. Try to explain to someone who doesn't do it how that perfect casts feels. Sneaking that plug (or worm) into that spot that you KNOW holds a fish
I think one of my favorite fish is a smallie and it wasn't to long ago I spent a couple of days fishing the rocks and boulders of a cold New Hampshire lake. Laughed our asses off spot and stalking them and I bet we didn't top 1/2 pound.

I fish the salt at 42 degrees Latitude and the striper fishing has been great. Most tides I can hit the 28 inch keeper mark even though they go back 99% of the time. My fishing buds have all broken the 40 inch mark but I'm stuck at the back of the pack. 40 inches is nutthing for the boat guys. sigh.
Haven't done much growing since the early 80's but the kids are gone so I can focus. Back then it was Skunk #1 and NL. Not much has changed so I am thinking I should be alright. The only thing I remember NOT finishing was a Swazi which I am certain was a Sativa.

Did my first real indoor grow last winter under CFL's alone. Very pleased with a big 1/4 pound off of four plants. Going to build a bigger box when temps stabilize a bit and have five bubliscious (sp) waiting to go. It seems like indoors gives you a hell of a lot more control over the variables. How are you at identifying problems?? Try this one on for size will you. Only on a Super Silver and a buddha Tahoe. WTF???

Tight lines and opps on the picture size. :peace:

Going to quietly keep an eye on you chuckleheads. It looks like you guys got a plan.:D

I'd love to take one of my kayaks out on that water. I can't sit still to fish, not my thing.I too like having a backup of genetics just in case. As long as my bb2 cut survives the rest could go. Sensei, you need some of that bb2.Owl, any chance you have the container store down there by you? they are the only ones with a tote that fits my cab. At least I hope the measurement they list is the widest parts. I plan to do 12/12 from seed in a swc under my led lamp. Need to get this rolling asap.

Damn this looks exactly like the Mercer Slough, connected to lake Washington. I go canoeing there all the time.

A computer game and they're sold out locally. No New copies are shopping for the theme being. Many truck isn't legal to drive to go get a copy and the container I need in Austin. Sigh

I'll be in town on Monday, Vman.. You want I should go grab for ya?
Idk when I'd be able to get them to ya, but it's closer than you heading in to the city.
(more back roads to avoid the man) we could meet up somewhere I guess.

Thems my next round, so being diligent to baby them and get some roots, ASAP!

Very nice... hope you have better luck than I have been having :) not sure whether it's cold temps, not enough light, too much humidity or what... i may put together a diy bubble cloner next time until i figure out what i'm screwing up.

Theowl

I've read that giving the clones a dark period helps a lot..
due to lack of photosynthesis, they can focus on cell differentiation, and root formation.
So mine this time have been under a flourescent tube, shaded, and allowed to have a short night time.
Hopefully, they'll take.. I will be really bummed if not. Only had one clone make roots this year, and it didn't survive potting up. For the life of me, I don't know why...

Senseimilla

Strange never had that happen... if it was a fresh cut going to soil might need a humidity dome of some kind but if it's been in soil a while not sure why that'd happen... never lost a transplant so far, but I don't transplant many clones either :)
