Timber Light Tips

Wasn’t sure where to list this so it’s in other threads sorry. So I’ve recently bought three of the 4VLs, love them so far did a bunch of research on here and other sites and decided to pull the trigger. So far they are working great however I am having trouble trying to dial them in as far as what is the right ‘light’ for each stage (veg to flower). I did talk with someone at timber about it (awesome people) and they said for veg about 25-50% power then full blast for flower or could buy a kill a watt. However, since they are on a dial it’s hard to judge without looking at the light (which hurts haha) what is 25 or 50% obviously full power is easy to judge. Basically I was wondering if the people that have timbers and how they judge light strength and maybe give me a few pointers? Thanks!

You said you can adjust the intensity using a dial, why not just draw markings on the dial?
Correct. I just was wondering if anyone that had them knew where abluts the 25-50% would be off hand from knowledge. Definitely was my plan was to mark them when I found a good rough estimate. Thanks!

You could measure the lux output using your phone with a light meter app (not accurate, but significant) and estimate from there. You could easily figure out what's 25%, 50%, and so on.

I run a Timber linear 3000k.You definitely want a killawatt and if need be mark your dial.I just use the killawatt for a exact wattage number every time I want to confirm or change wattage.I believe I purchased mine from the depot for $20-30.As far as how much light to use,I go 25w per sq.foot, and the last two weeks I bump it up to 37w per sq ft.Hth

I also use a Lux meter made for LED'S (around a 100 dollars for a good meter on Amazon) . Measure light intensity and how even your light is spread across your canopy . There is a lux level for all stages of growth. Love my timbers.. Peace

^^^this is the easiest, most accurate way to set intensity. Get a kill-a-watt and spend a few minutes calibrating the dimmer so you can repeat settings and you're done-simple.
