I think what Steve French is saying is that not all reasons people play the "MMJ card" are legit. Yes, getting "recommendations" for medical purposes is a step in the right direction.....but how long are the other MJ users that can't get MMJ cards supposed to sit idly by, while many, many people clearly abuse it......and some of those people come on sites like this and act all high and mighty that they do it "legally" and frown upon people that grow MMJ for financial purposes....or personal use but are not legal.I just disagree with you about it not being different than drug seekers getting chemical drugs. Do you not believe that mj, being a natural substance and typically used unadulterated in any way, should be legal for all? I do, and I also believe that people getting "recommendations" for medical purposes is a step toward that.
These same people that tend to look down on non-card holders.......I am willing to bet some of them people were members of RIU long before they were ever approved for their MMJ cards......where did they get their smoke before that? If they grew it themselves, but didn't hold cards, they were in fact in violation of the site rules. Or they purchased their smoke from people that grew/grow for reasons other than just legal medical reasons.
Things are heading in a positive direction (even look at TV programming and the changing attitude about legalizing) , but it seems to put a divide between your typical MMJ users (those who partake "illegally"), and those who hold cards....either legitimately, or for some bullshit made up reason their doctor fell for.
Up until the MMJ card even came around, we were all in the same boat.......now not so much.
