Too many clones

I've been topping my plants to keep them short. I did not have the heart to throw perfectly good cuttings away so I rooted them and all but 2 or 3 were successful. I gave away one big Ice and 7 clones and that made some room. Another RIU member was supposed to take some of the clones but we have not hooked up yet. I have decided that the Iranian G13 is going to be my main plant strain and I have two that are amazingly healthy and bushy. I took 21 cuttings and I was watering them a week later and they all have gobs of roots sticking out everywhere!! So now I have 21 new clones to add to the jungle in my tent. I would love to find someone up here that could use some of these. (That is NOT an offer to sell. ...just sayin).

Thought I'd post some pix of my newest babies. These are the ones I have to make room for! These are all Dr. Greenthumbs Iranian G13. Check out this rootball!! And keep in mind that these were cut a week ago. :) I'm not saying I'm a master cloner; just that these plants are amazing.

Damn Alaska is gonna be hard to find some takers. I would love to, but I thinks Washington is still a long drive :(

P.s. impressive roots for one week!

Better a master cloner than a master baiter.

OK, seriously, you cut those a WEEK ago? That's super strong work!

Would you care to share your cloning method? I'd love to learn something here.

Yeah man, that is not a typo; those babies are a week old. I just get all my things ready, set my plants on the counter and pour a little Clonex gel into a condiment cup. I take my cuttings just below a node, trim it just at it on a slant, gently scrape off most of the cambium layer, dip the end good, and plug it deep into a fresh Rapid Rooter plug. I put them in the little plastic tubs with the dividers and they hold the cuttings nicely and upright. I only have the one grow tent and I have a 4 bulb, 4' T5 set which hangs down at about 3' for the moms and a 2 bulb, 4' T5 at the very top. 6 of the plastic tubs will fit into the bottom of a "clone dome" so I put them in there, even tho I'm not filling it up. Then I add about 1/2" of water with Liquid Karma in it to the tray and set it on top of the bottom light fixture (very carefully). The heat from the lights makes for a heat mat effect. I've found that using a heat mat is the single most important element in successful seed germination or cloning; I am fully convinced of that. I didn't even look for roots until yesterday. I rock the tray a little every few days to make sure the Rapid Rooters stay wet. Yesterday, just out of curiosity, I picked up one of the cuttings and it had a mass of beautiful roots coming out. I just blew my mind. You will probably see a little powdery white mildew forming on the upper part of it but you'll be covering that with potting soil anyway.

All my hydro stuff is in storage in Cali so I'm having to do a soil grow. I use MG Organic Choice potting soil; you can get it at Lowes or Home dePot. I scoop about half a party cupful of it into the cup, set the clone in the middle, then top it off with more potting soil til it's up to the top. I water it in with tap water and stick it under the lights. That's it; couldn't be more simple.

Here's the latest shot of the grow tent. It is at absolute capacity; actually it's beyond capacity; I need to get rid of something or start flowering.

WOW, that is amazing....if you lived local, I would snag at LEAST three from you! :P

how exactly do people give away clones online? Is there a safe way to mail a clone without it dying or being discovered? Driving up from Washington state sounds pretty risky, crossing the border twice with a marijuana PLANT in your car lol. what if they do a car search?
Its unfortunate you didnt happen to live say just around the corner from me or I would definately be interested in some clones. I gotta vegg these Kali Mist seedlings for another month and then flower is 12+ weeks, its going to be a true test of patience to wait that long. A good batch of clones would set me up for a bumper crop, and give me a mix of genetics.

thanks for the offer!

I would definitely hook you guys up if you were local, but sending live plants through the mail would really be risky, but it could be done. One of my RIU buds is supposed to trade me some Romulan X AK48 clones for some of mine. Maybe I can talk him into taking two for one. :)

customs will do random checks on incoming mail to canada so it would definately be a bit risky. I just ordered some mimosa hostilis inner root bark from south america and it got held up in customs for a week, thankfully that stuff is legal. Im imagining you put a rooted plug into a chunk of styrofoam, squeeze that tight into a box, stick a silica packet in there, tell the thing to hold its breath send it on its way? Its probably too cold this time of year though, unless theres a special delivery method that doesnt allow the packages to become cold. Id try it between me and another person in Canada but I wouldnt do it with crossing any borders. Any Canadians looking to swap clones?

This time of year you'd have to ship it in a styrofoam cooler.. and by ground, not air. At altitude it'd be much colder. The cooler might come in a protected box of some kind, so you could re-ship it all. Put "Dr. your-name" as the recipient and mark it "rare tomato specimen for testing" or some shit. Idk.. putting any of that through a federal agency will cause major problems, no matter what state it may be legal in. So, fedex or puro would be safer.

Dillest I'd be up for that, but I don't have any clones yet. I will, though.

Yea -50celcius doesnt sound too nice, thats what itll be if you send it by air mail, good point. ahh yea one of those styrofoam boxes you can get for fishing would be perfect, and cheaper than shipping your coleman beer cooler. Or you could just do it real cheap by cutting up up peices of flat styrofoam to fit just right in the box. It doesnt actually sound that risky if its local and you just put some tape on the box. unless you just have a nosey person working at the post office.

what strain you got? And what neck of the woods are you in?
Ill be taking 20 clones soon from 10 seedlings and sexing them/determining what my seedlings are. Ill be keeping one clone from each mother, so ill have 10 extras. They are Kali Mist, 12 week flower, 90% sativa
