To be liberal is to suspend disbelief of your own morality so you can take sides with whatever trendy hotbutton issue Air America says you should feel about. It's the same with hardcore rightwingers - but liberals hurt America and neo-cons just hurt other countries.

Then the US should change their way of Goverment to that of the Canadian one...(the world should all be like canada, free snow, free parking on weekends, free mustash rides ...lol).....well at least when the Liberals, and Cons, plus others (Bloc, NDP, Green (pot head) Party, etc) meet, they can yell at each other, boo each other, and sometimes the leader will reach out and grab someone by the throat, or pepper spray some hippies for fun........:P

If it wasn't so friggin cold up there I might consider moving there as I believe their system of govt. to be more in line with my thinking. They now have elected a hardline conservative that wants to trim the medical care program, I'm not sure how that will work out, It's a little harder to take away entitlements (as the American govt, calls them) once the people have had them for a while IE. Social Security! I think the soon to be legal pot laws in Nevada might influence me to stay here, After all I'm to old for the next draft they're about to institute, I already served in one, I just feel sorry for all those conservative young men that will be caught up in the next one, NOt. they will get a chance to serve out their convictions, how ironic, they think war is good, so go serve! My prediction: there will be a draft resolution before Bush leaves office! The excuses for one are piling up daily!

PS: Historically, Republicans don't institute drafts ... Democrats do. Its the statist mentality of the Democrats that cause this. After all, we are all wards of the state, right?

Med I don't think war is good, I think it is necessary at times. And if there was a draft than Silvernomad would meet me at the border and we'd go get some freedom-fries and gravy, eh?!

Does Canada have free healthcare for everyone? That would be awesome. And bud is legal in some places? And the olympics are in 2010!

The only problem I have with canada is the frickin winters, way too cold for a so. Nevada boy! I just don't like anything about snow, walking in it, driving in it shoveling it. It looks pretty on the charleston mtn. from about twenty miles away, thats as close as I want to get!

Ima moderate republican but not really an ANnn fan myself as far as Bush being a terrorist thats just non sense and would come from another liberal or dumbacrates mouth lol. There are certain factions were torture is the only way. You deal with the people of the middle east where they have been trained to think its noble to kill innocent people to proof a religious point well those arent people they are sick animals and sometimes you have to get extreme. Non of the muslim militants or terrorist groups follw the Geneva convention rules of war and engagement. If you choose not to use those rules and laws then expect not to get those rights in return. A terrorist bomber wants to use a child to kill his enemy and chop the head off hostages live to shock and prove how bad they they are then they are ready to have a little bit returned to them water boarding should be a blessing for these beings. America doesnt hack off a finger at a time or let starved dogs eat a person piece by piece until they speak but we do understand how to go to that level if thats what they want. Its a new age and if your hands are tied to where you have to worry about political correctness during a full on war you will loose. Im thanksful Bush was in office for this an not Clinton anymore as Billy would have just gave the keys to the country to them. The dumbacrates dont worry about the future of America as the same with liberals. They want to talk it out today and deal with it again later. With Bush like him or not he is what America should be. He tells you we wont tolerate your bulshit and if you wanna play with us go right ahead and we will react immediately and in full force. Clinton made us a weak laughing stock and its finally getting around that its not a good idea to fuck with america again because we got this crazy little Texan in the white house who doesnt take shit and has a shit load of military toys behind him and will use them...no talking it out no second chances you do it and we told you not to then deal with it bitches...maybe people who hate america hate we have that ability and not much to do about it but thats what gives us in the US what we have and will keep what we have. We are not taking over any country for thier land or anything. We try to stop shit and in extreme cases handle our business and then turn it back over.. Bush stopped the next Hitler and that is what Saddam was exact carbon copy doing the exact same things and if you dont see that then take your head out your ass as its right there pure fact......

very well put my friend, if you read the above he just laid it all out simple as pie, even returning Bush and being glad he is / was our pres, its easy to jump on a band wagon when everyone is on it. shit these days i think peeps are even scared to say they are down with bush, cuz of all these yokles bitching and moaning about him for the past 8 years its not surprising. they even helped in haveing people of other nations hate us. thats treason to me mainly when we are at war they are encouraging decent from other nation only to gain political power not because they really care one way or the other, and they have gotten more of our boys killed because this spinless action. that is what a traiter does.

That is a perfect description of Classical Liberalism ... liberalism in the Jeffersonian sense. It is not relevant to modern-day liberalism. Modern liberalism is all about the growth of the welfare state, the dissolution of individualism and the loss of political and economic liberties.
