Tried a sample

Do you check trichomes with a scope or loupe?
Probably early, if you see alot of clear its too early, you want mostly cloudy, with a few amber. ;)

I did, the problem there were some amber(which made me try), but the clear one are way more than the milky( the amber and clear are more than the milky)
 
how many weeks of flowering?
Sativas usually give you a strong head high. May have to let it go longer to fully ripen and degrade thc a bit for your liking.

12-16 weeks flowering for sativas .
 
Just take a small sample each week and you'll know when its to your liking. Longer you go the less head high it should be.
Its not fully ripe yet , thats why you got hit hard ... lol

Lol that's what I've been doing. Just clip a sample a every week til I'm satisfied
