Whats wrong with SS?

Stainless does not hold a edge nearly as well as a carbon type steel and the edge on scissors once eroded will produce a shitty cut , But I am nit picking hear

Im just going to pick up a pair of fiskars , and I have tons of old barber scissors , (some are old hand forged , and work like new I hope for that type of quality out of everything)

i just trimmed a couple of them yesterday. i'll do a closer trim after they dry a bit more. i don't want them to dry too fast.

i'm still partial to the cuticle scissors but the fiskers have their uses. a good mix of two different types of leaf removers.

i'm not sure why the little scissors look like they have something black on the blade. i just cleaned them up with rubbing alcohol. they look clean in real life. :)
huh.

I think after a few years of clipping experience, I can say that you want scissors that are really sharp, with small needle point tips. I used normal kitchen and office scissors and didn't really mind,
although I spent a lot of time just scraping them because they would stick. Last month I had a harvest and my helper was complaining about my scissors so I finally caved and bought some scissors
that were claiming to be for Cannabis. Holy shit, they make a huge difference, first off, they are comfortable, have loose action so my hands don't get tired, and they are black, and have some
sort of teflon coat on the blades. No more constant scraping, no cramping, really will never use a normal pair of scissors and can't believe I went that long using crap scissors.
The name of the scissors are pro420 and I found mine on Amazon, I think they are on Ebay as well. They have both the manual snips and spring loaded, they are great! Good Luck!

Received my pro 420 scissors today!. man, amazon is fast!!! well anyways these scissors are pretty nice, spring is a lil strong, but i like that so i can keep snippin, and they are pretty damn sharp, about as sharp as my cold steel recon 1. will be using the scissors in about 5 days, just waiting for my product to dry. i will report back in 5 days after using these babies. so far i got a good feeling about them. hoping they dont gunk like my other fiskars do, titanium included.

EDIT: was looking to buy a sheffield on amazon and came across this review

"This product broke as soon as I put my hands on it. It was so fragile I thought it was a kids toy."

kinda deterred me to buy one, but i will keep lookin for more reviews.

Okay so i put in some hours with the pro 420 scissors. there are some pros and cons.
Pros:
Sharp
Wipes clean pretty easily
Comfortable
Increased production

Cons:
Lock is kinda dinky and i broke the locking method already.

Other than that. I really like them, they are actually my new favorite pair of scissors. I just wish the locking method was like my other favorite pair.
if they incorporate that locking method with their scissors, they would have one of the best scissors used for trimming. but my other pair was only 0.99 cents.
if they started teflon coating THEIR scissors, we would have some real competition. So, you can buy 20 of the 0.99 cent scissors, or one of the teflon coated. if you have friends trimming with you, prolly get like 20 of the 0.99 cent ones and just have them soaking in alcohol, while using one pair, and just switch off to increase production. so there are pros and cons. i however am the only one trimming so that is something for me. kinda like a luxury pair. the only thing i hate about the damn thing is the locking mechanism. im about to grab some pliers to break it completely off.

I use the Fiskars, they are pretty hard to beat. They are pretty much the standard against which all other scissors are judged.

So after a lot of use of my 420 green scissors, the one with the teflon coating. i use some scrubbers and alcohol to clean the blade. WATCH OUT as my teflon is starting to fade. i thought i'd update. but stil a nice pair of scissors besides that. LOL. go with 99 cent ones and just have one pair soaking in alcohol while using another!!!!!

yea i saw that, but the coating is over stainless steel , so once the coating wears off you are left with just the SS , They also dont give any specks on the SS the type or hardness ??

I like the idea of the barber shears , I think I will make them work
I use the barbers scissors.. my ex was a hairdresser and I swiped a pair of hers. Make sure you get the little rubber inserts for the handles. They help out a lot!

I just wanted to reply since I just saw your posts about the PRO 420 scissors with the teflon coating. I went to a trade show in Denver back in April and met the PRO 420 team. They explained that any trimmer who cleans these scissors with a razor or scrub brush will more than likely remove the teflon coating. It is after all just a coating.
They had a jar of cleaning solution, so I bought one. It is a sponge filled jar filled with hemp oil to clean scissors. The combo of the scissors and the jar really does speed things up and the teflon stays on the scissors. Just thought I would add that. I agree, the spring is plastic and loose, needs to be replaced with stainless steel.
