Trying to make a shopping list for a 12 cob setup in a 4x4 flowering tent.

Yeah, I've gone down to 50w per cob now, using two HLG-320H-C1400B.
 
I like your layout for the number of COBs you're running. It lends itself well to the space as long as you restrain the dimensions. Since I'm spending your money, I'd run three drivers in the groupings illustrated. The HLG-320H-C2100B will allow you to drive each COB to 75W, which is more than required, but as the drivers and COBs become more efficient when under-driven at 40-50W and it gives you headroom should you someday decide to run a controlled CO2 system, it makes sense. That said, I'm sure someone will jump up waving their arms and declare that I'm crazy and that you only need X number of watts per COB and to run the HLG-xxx driver. Do you want to drive a Yugo or a fricking Ferrari? Personally, I'd rather have more power than I need rather than be limited by my driver choice. But then... I'm running 16 CXB3590s at 75W each with CO2. :)

OK, Tandy is a lost cause. Let's go back to talking about the size of SixString's tiny creenus.

And for the record, Tandy, you'll be pulling 205.8Vf total at 288.1W per six CXB3590s with that driver. What a waste of 3590s! The horror... the horror...

Just noticed that 36", do you think dropping down a bit from 40" is important? Was considering making it a nice 42.0"

It won't matter how big you make the frame, just make sure the cobs are at least 6 inches from the walls. So yeah, if you make the frame 36" then your cobs will be about 8" from the wall depending on what type of heatsink you're using. The biggest I would make it is 38", so your cob would be 6-7" from the wall assuming I use a round pin-fin sink and it's edge is touching the edge of your frame.

Well while I have you here I may as well ask about the rest of the set up. I'm basically starting from scratch. Need to buy a good 4x4, think about ventilation and pumping air out of my room, filtering that air. Some stuff to move air around in the tent too I guess.
 
Can't find one that'll ship to Australia. Brands at my local store are Gorilla, Seahawk and HomeLab, The gorilla being $600 dollars here which seems like a bit.

I'll probably just get the gorilla, won't put me too much over budget.

You could probably buy a tent for half the price of the gorilla that will work 100% as well. People have the same issues with them like pinholes, zippers that fuck up etc.

i have both the gorilla and homelab for my breeding tents and they are damn near identical other than i can add another section to the top of the gorilla tent. fabric quality is almost a perfect match.
 
And the HomeLab 120L is in stock at Easy Green in NZ for $330 inc. GST.

edit: nevermind, just waking up and the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.

Hey guys, all my stuff showed up and it is mostly together. Buying the tent tomorrow and was considering going up to a 5x5. Would that be of much benefit to me?

The way the frame is I haven't quite left the recommended 6-7 inches from the wall, its more like 4-5.
