Yea I’m hoping to stay away from that issue with organics just need to learn to read my planta better plantsI have really dry air and use a temp/rh controller on my exhaust fan so it only kicks in when the RH or temp gets high enough to turn it on. Still too low most of the time so I just feed less so they don't end up overnuting themselves with all the extra RO water they drink when the air is dry. Toxic salts buildup is nasty.

If conditions are such that my exhaust fan is not being switched on at all I'll burn my little DIY alcohol lamp to supply lots of CO2. Most of the time I just use that when I flip to flower and let my temps run up to 90F during the massive growth spurt during the stretch period.
I've done a bunch of ScroGs and the branches that grow off the edges can be carefully bent around to aim back into the middle and fill empty spaces. I always used short pieces of twist tie to attach to the top of the screen so branches could be relocated while vegging and whole branches could be cut off at harvest time.

I used metal fencing with even large holes like yours and would bridge open spaces with twist tie off a roll to be able to tie grow tips to as they crossed the gaps. Even go over other branches and as side branches got longer tie them down too so I wouldn't have spikes sticking up later. When I flipped to flower only a couple of inches of each grow tip would be out past the last bit of twist tie holding down the branch but at the end some colas could be 8" or more above the screen. As the branches get trained to grow horizontally you only need a few bits of twist tie to hold the last 6" or so of each branch to the screen. I'd just remove ones further back to the front.

As they begin to stick out you just bend them a little each day so they make a half circle and then the tip can be tied to the wire and just keep growing. When tied to the top instead of tucking you can reposition a branch to cover a bare area of the screen. If you tuck under then that branch is stuck in that position forever after it gets longer.

When I was doing DWC ScroGs in Rubbermaid tubs each branch could grow 3" a day. I had my tubs on wheeled dollies so I could turn them around while sitting on a pail and it only took 10 min a day to keep things tidy.

You just want the canopy nice and even on top so they all get good strong light while flowering. And prune off small branches and junk under the canopy as they will just suck energy that the tops need to grow bigger buds. All you'll get from branches and even buds under the canopy are little popcorn buds that are a PITA to trim up and not worth the effort. Anything smaller than dime size I just snip off anything that doesn't have sugar on it and toss the popcorn and sugar trim into a pile to make into oil. A lot of the small stuff that I would toss out I let dry and run it thru my keif screen to scavenge the last bits of trichomes they have on them. Big fan leaves either get fed to the chickens or tossed in the compost.
