For once, Buddy and I agree. We're not talking about street weed, this is medicine. What are they gonna do next? Tell me I can't take a pain pill within 50 feet of a fire hydrant?
LOL.. don't kid yourself.. its a drug and street weed there is only a few legitimate real MMJ benefactors all the others just want to be legal while high.

Just because YOU are taking advantage of the system doesn't mean that everyone else is....or that you should be running your mouth about you're abuse.

So then it seems as though the first of the second wave of laws is becoming a reality. You all know what happens if you sit back and let the law-makers and politicians lead the way don't you?

Becarefull Michigan. Michigan loves to get something for nothing. I hope we get united before we get divided. One big stern but very direct voice is what marijuana patients need.

I vote that we as citizens would like to elect a medical marijuana czar that has the ability to sit with the governer and speak for us in one stern voice. I would like marijuana to have it's own represantation in the government body. I do not know much about the mmmp but I know if they are not spending the money we gave them to speak loud and clear for us then perhaps we the people should seek a voice pretty quick.

We need a spokesman and it all.. why should'nt we get one? again look at the money we are handing over already. If the mmmp does not have enough money to provide us with a spokesman then they are spending the money unwisely.

Fuck yeah. Lets hit up NORML with a few rough drafts of the duties and powers of a CANNABIS Czar (sorry, I find 'marijuana' to be racist and offensive).

What kind of powers, responsibilities and expectations are we looking to bestow on such an individual?

Sounds like two decent laws to me.. could be worse.

People crying about police busting them or raiding their homes are people who are loud mouth ignorant people or piss someone off that you let know you grow. Grow, enjoy keep your mouth shut and the law will be safer. Its the idiots who think getting a fucking card is a ticket to dealing bud on the street or too non card holders. It's BS ya, but those are the mother @!)(*&@! that are going to get our laws amended or even taken away.

you sir are a fool. you should spend a LOT of time reading 1st, thru the US CONSTITUTION as Originanally Constructed by our Founding Fathers, as it is REALLY, the ONLY CONSTITUTION THAT IS LEGALLY BINDING in the USA. and secondly, the federal HIPPA Laws that protects the US CITIZENS of the United States of America, fromallowing access of any person(s) Medical Records and/or Information in any way, to any other person or entity, whether that entity be business or governmental, without your EXPRESS WRITTEN CONSENT, or a Warrent Signed by a Judge in the Jurisdiction of the Records being saught.

this is nearly as dangerous a thinking process as these laws are that they are atempting to pass.
thinking that way will make america the new socialiast, corporalgovernmental society. better known as 1942 Germany, Zieg Heil.

your either part of the solution or part of the problem to be eradicated. the choice is yours to make. chose to be educated. the more you know the less chance of becoming a victim!

and if your not american at all, keep your non needed, un warrented, point of view where it belongs. elsewhere.

You really think I'm concerned with those types? They'll get theirs soon enough. Look at the turnaround time on applications now. It's dropped by two months. Everyone was being told six months at the beginning of the year, and now people are getting their cards in four months. It won't take them much longer to get caught up and when they do, you'd better believe there's going to be things getting reviewed. The ones who just want to be legal will get weeded out and dealt with. No, I'm not concerned with those who would abuse the system as much as I am concerned with those who would deny MY RIGHTS. We're already ON that slippery slope, no need to hit the gas pedal any harder.

Extremely well said, There is alot of gray areas, and they are trying to clean it up. I was shocked, I have seen people selling medibles to just anyone, even people who dont have cards. I guess its legal because its extracts of the plant, and not actual posession.

Just got this from MPP:

Michigan voters made it clear that they support medical marijuana when they overwhelmingly passed the 2008 initiative that was spearheaded by MPP’s campaign committee. But since then, legislators in Lansing have proposed several bills that would undermine that law. Two recently introduced bills stand out as examples.

A keystone of the Michigan medical marijuana law is patient privacy, but last week Senator Darwin Booher introduced SB 377, which would require the names of cardholders to be sent to the Department of State Police and delete privacy protections. The law already allows police to verify patients’ ID cards, so this bill needlessly jeopardizes privacy and treats them like criminal suspects.

Equally outrageously, yesterday Representative George Darany introduced HB 4661, which would make it a felony to cultivate marijuana within 500 feet of a school, daycare center, or church. Rep. Darany says his intent is to prohibit “marijuana clinics” from being located next to these establishments, but as written, the bill would apply to patients or their caregivers, even if they are growing in their own homes!

Please send your legislators an email reminding them Michigan voters have spoken, and patients and their caregivers are not criminals. It’ll take you less than a minute.

Why does it matter if you are a mile from a church? what happened to the seperation of church and state?

Review what? All they can do is check with the dr to make sure he is legit and actually signed for you. Beyond that they can't do anything. It's specifically built into the law that they CANNOT do anything about it. It is the doctors decision - end of story.
