Is it city tap or well water tap? Tap at 80ppms starting isnt that much and an R/O system probably isnt what you need. When have you calibrated the ppm meter last?

69-70 degrees is like the sweet spot for hydro. When it gets up to and beyond 77 or so it starts to go south. You have good air going since your in a dwc i take it? Microbes will help keep root rot away if you get that alot, plenty of air helps too.
