Nope, this is all just temporary half assed growing anyway. Zero room prep, carpet still there, people would just bitch and bitch.

I'll get around to doing a grow journal when I have something really worth showing.

And looking great as always. Is he open bulb as easy to cool as they say? I am thinking so, this summer has been pretty hot here and my openhood seemed to be a bit cooler and easier to keep closer to the plants.

You can have them way closer to the plants since the heat just rises and isn't reflected so it's way more efficient without provided you have plants on all sides.

I have hoods, but I just won't use them any more unless I needed a side light with directed light or something like that.

12" is a safe distance for an open bulb vertical 1kw hps or even less if you have better than a 10$ fan on the floor like I do.
The same light horozontal with a hood would need to be 1/3 further away or burn the plants and it would cut my vertical growing height down by well over 2' so trees like I have wouldn't be possible. and I run trees because I'm a legal med grower and have a strict plant count limit so it just makes sense for me in many ways.

I have only had my ac hood for less than 4 months and can already see for my grow style open is better. Your points though about 'heat reflected back' and 'heat rising' simple and fact. Sometimes its the simplicity of something that actually makes it difficult.
I already planned to redo my flower room after the rds finished. New visions abound. Thanks Meds and all. RIU ROCKS!

So here we go... last day of week 3... :lol:

Here we take a look at the girl on the left...

In my opinion, she is the fullest... this was the second plant to get set up...

I may even have troubles with humidity... things are getting tight...

The we see the poor girl in the middle...

She is the skinniest of the 3... but she doesn't even have her own light...

And out of all my moms... these two were choices #5 &#6... so I guess I can't complain too much... :lol:

And last but definitely not least...

we have the girl on the right... under the Metal Halide bulb...

She was the first one to get hooked up with her own system and light...

and one of those macro shots so that we can see that the trich production has started... :lol:

Thank u for the kind words its actually 2 chicks lol but I cut some clones today and am getting ready to set up for a perpetual. I also upped the wattage by adding another 250w maetal halide but after seeing oregonmeds post I hung it open and it only bumped my day temp from 64 to 69 but it took my humidity down to 49 so win win. Imm gonna just copy and paste for my update sorry its so long but figured u should all meet my new mutant addition to the family

Thought I'd post a few pics of the family. Also was wondering I cut some clones and on one of them within minutes was limp almost laying down and the leaves were curling up into themselves. Never had that problem and never had it that fast... Anyone know what the cause could be? Should I toss it and get another cut?
Idk how clear it is but the one on the top left is the one layin down almost.
