Upgrading LED Lights

I would just mod the carbon filter so you can run it inline with the exhaust ducting, outside the tent. Ductape 2 plastic buckets together at the lids to make a longer cylinder, or find a cheap round trash can or something just a little bigger the filter so it leaves an air gap all around it when inside. Then cut the portholes on each end, and add a 6" duct flange. Use some foam pool noodle strips to stuff in and help keep the filter centered right in the middle if needed...

It shouldn't cost very much to make something like that (if at all) that is compact and functional, compared to buying a custom pre made inline filter.
Im having a hard time picturing that, not sure what you mean. Honestly though Im limited space and just looking for something easy for now, Im exausted lol.

I should of been up and running and saving and just keeping everything up. I just had to get to where Im at now to be in this position, IE venting outside for nothing, buying all these tents fans filters for nothing.

I dont mind having a filter fan for each tent and paying more for it. My latest goal should keep me away from store weed for good.

My roommates saw my room and asked if Im happy with having no space whatsoever. Like barely any to get dressed.

Hell yea Im happy just hope the gov doesnt take away my priveledge growing if I cant do this Im gonna be a sad lonely bored individual.

So Idk how I can fit anything else I already have to figure out how to reconfigure my grow. Im not sure how its gonna look Im just winging it.

Cant wait to be where I was supposed to be a couple months ago just about. Still broke as shit.

I have a 2x2x6 with filter fan inside and its not something I want to deal with. Trying to upgrade as much as possible but if I could keep the 3x3x6 why not.

I just dont want to spend another 100 or more just to have 6” more height to utilize dust filters for carbon filter. Vent outside in summer in power outage.

I think having 2/3rd of my grow vent outside is enough despite losing the dust filter. Unless I find a compact board with lenzes.

I think pushing out the filter isnt too bad its just when talc from tap from huey clogs it is when I lost a filter first time.
One thing a lot of peeps do here (open sapce though) is to extract from the bottom, at least in colder months. It helps keeping temps up in cold growspaces. Not sure if feasible but its try out able :)

Awesome thanks yall! I did hear sun grown produces more hash and was wondering how leds could improve to do the same. Im a 100% rosins only farmer and user so thats awesome to hear!
I’d suggest searching Facebook marketplace for a high end led . You can usually score them for cents on the dollar , from grow ops going out of business.

I bought 40 fluence spydr 2i 4x4 LED’s for 12,000.00 usd , but he was selling singles for 400 a piece - and they had all been used for 2 flower runs !
I saw some hlg r spec 600s the other day for 150.00 a piece .

before I upgraded to high end equipment , I ran some cheaper budget lights , and actually had pretty good results considering - but as with anything you get what you pay for .
I love my fluence lights , I can lay them right on the plants in flower and hammer them without burning buds and leaves to a crisp

Yea I think to make it easy and get by for now Il put the fan filter outside on top of tent. I want as much height as possible.
Do you suck or pull? In my tent i pull and i put the filter directly on the hole used part of the tent fabric with the hose to keep it secureddidnt get too much extra space maybe 5cm

Right now its a 4” that pulls, the fan and filter inside the tent but thinking of pushing through filter with fan and filter on top of tent.

I keep saying overfed but my plants are more like me. Well fed. Im not obese but Im over weight theres a difference. Well fed to me is a bit more than needed but still healthy.

I just dont know why else going from 3 gal to 1 gal which isnt full so less than a gal. Going from 1.1ec to 1.8. Now if dropping ec can cause issues where as if you started with less ec idk.

edit If it dont work in veg it most likely wont work in flower and ec runoff has been in=out. So I dont think so.

Hesitant to feed anyless than 1.8. The leafs start fading. Heres a pic of my clones I was feeding .8 ec and they got sick and woulnt let up until I hit 1.8 just in time to flower and saved my ass.

Just what it seems like anyway. Just reviewed the pics again and still feel that way.

Trying to find examples of nute burn and N toxic plants cant find any. I suck at searching things sometimes though.

Ive seen it before and I dont think this is it. Of course my plants could make a perfect example is what it could seem like.

It wouldnt finish if it was though. Ive seen people running 3.0ec with athena with leaves like this. Either that or my lack of search results show its harder to happen than one would think.

People say things all the time that theyve never experienced but I have right off the bat. Eh I guess back to the lighting topic.

More than welcome to update my plant problems thread with your input. I just dont know why Im in this position to defend overfeeding my plants.

edit to add pics of clones that went down ec .3 points then back up when I saw theyre scramming for those nutes. And that it was my pump failing that caused initial concern.

Im almost 1 wk from chop and much better run this time.

Im over feeding on purpose, they just get sick when I give them any more or less. They thrive at 1.8ec .5ec is tap and I was told its not very good so Im just risking it.
If you don't want to knock the N down a bit then FFS you need to do a shedload of defoliation. I mean what is the point of dark green leaves sitting in the gloaming of the undergrowth.

I didnt defol first round, I did this round but I dont want to over do it. Its tough in a 2/2 but its better this round. It can take a while to get this perfect unless you want to under fill your spaces.

Perpetuating right off the bat with minimal experience and its not as easy as I thought. These plants are over grown clones due to being off by 3 weeks.

So my first round had I not been afraid to prune and defol I would of done better. Now theyre much taller canopies and half my tents are too short, dim and small.

Now Im rushing to grow another strain so yea Im kinda froggy but shit. The air man.. Its a wonder space that can contain the death to your garden and make you not even want to do this.

So just get lucky or not. Why not grab the bull by the horns and see what problems you get.

Theres like no fan leafs on my small plants and last defol I took bunch of leafs with hash on it. My better tent dont have this issue. I do take access fans off now and prune suckers.

This a hermie pheno so I just wanted see if I could yield seedless but saw its just a natural herm.

I kept going till I saw reasonable light on the lowest. Its much better this time. I need to find out why colas just dry out. Part of why I said that silly thing. I could have bigger issues than that.

You could consider cobs if you didnt have the height restriction eh. Sucks not having enough height. Limits you to led boards. Unless you go crazy with lst.
I got cobs, last grow came in at a little more than 1g/ watt. 355 grams from 343 watts from the wall.

I always wanted the hlg and ill defo get it at some point but cobs are really kickin it from my limited experience :bigjoint:

About to by that ks3000. It could wait a couple more weeks but you ever just want something faster for no good reason? Im thinkin buy it. Is 289$ a good deal or should that be there later still..

Im geeked its a perfect light, my ts1000 need a good 24” for similar ppfd. Ks3000 still better, pretty much 900ppfd all around. That will help with my half a foot loss in using this tent.

Just doesnt justify losing $100 and spending $100 for half a ft more. Just gonna put filter and fan right on top of tent.

It will help keep room in temp overnight so the coil in dehuey dont freeze. Shoot I want that light I just want to finish the setup even though my veg plants aint ready to flip yet.

FFIW, I just got rid of my two QB96 running at 180W each and two other 100W lights and replaced them all with 4 of the new Viparspectra xs1500 with the lenses. I was going to put three in my 5 foot by 32 in tent, ended up with four. And boy oh boy what a difference. Instead of 550W I'm now using 420W with another 180W if I want them.

I have two 2.5x5’s that are 6.5’ tall and a 3x3 all flower tents. My style is 2.5x2.5’ wide plants with 6-6.5’ height and 3x3x6 for the first time.

So nothing bigger than 3x3x6 or the other tents any time soon and thats fine. I love the results of them.

I had evolved a bit growing wise especially doing clone side by sides same plant. Using minimal lighting, knock off brands and now sufficiently with mars hydro.

They work perfect for 2.5x2.5 but dont like the hazard. I see now a viparspectra p1500 is the same footprint. I just read theyre safer, is it?

Im interested in trying them out after my mars lights run their course.

What are key differences between the two? Why do my mars lights produce the best quality and yield and how could it compare to VS P1500?

Using this thread to evolve my knowledge and possession of lights eventually to HLG but why? Ill leave it at that.
Viparspectra are e excellent lights for what they cost I have an xs2000 and an xs1500 in one of my 3×3 and a ks3000 in another they in my opinion are better than mars. I have a ts 1000 that I still use and I like it but I find you can get the xs series very close to the canopy without stressing the plants. And the Samsung diodes are a key selling point. You'll not regret purchasing one.

The ks3000 absolutely rocks, I have had mine for 2 runs and no complaints whatsoever so easy to hang and level and fills the whole 3x3 perfectly here is my current grow under it and my last autoflower sog grow I think I paid 360 Australian dollars on ebay. Good luck there are so many great options for us
