LOL yeah I am planning on getting a bunch of plastic and doing the whole thing up right from floor to ceiling solid white. The shelves are 6' across I'm not sure how far that is across but I'd guess 10-12'. I'm probably gonna get a light rail to move the light along most of the length of the shelves to keep the light even on all the plants... that is going to help a lot as well. Those probably won't happen though until the grow moves to it's permanent location upstairs (if daughter ever moves out.... it seems to magically always be a couple months away...)

That reminds me, been wanting to show you this!
only would help move lights up and down, but if you find your other ballasts, then you could do high/low lights.

Yeah you did send me that before I guess I didn't reply maybe... they look good but i've just been using adjustable bungee cord that accomplishes the exact same thing, so no real need :)

Would be nice for the LEDs but I'd have to buy too many (4 each)... i'm really thinking bout those blumats.. i'm thinking in future grows of going to 2.4 & 3.6 gallon pots on the shelves and using the 1.5 gallons on the floor SOG style... even if i the blumats don't work on the side shelves, they'd at least work for the SOG and make working it more feasible...

The sad thing is I um... already thought of a better/simpler design for these shelves that'd work better with the blumats... oops! too late now. in hindsight, really didn't have to angle the shelves :) could've gone much simpler... but live and learn :) maybe i will repurpose the existing shelf that is not as stable as the one we just did when next grow is up.

Yeah well i think my wife would kill me if I told her i just built those shelves and no i'm gonna redo/replace them ;) so they're probably gonna stick as is for a while... but it's all good :)

Just fed the new flower crew... they were getting pretty thirsty but to their credit were not drooping even though you couldn't tell there was any moisture in those pots by weight... light as a feather. They're droopin a bit now from a good solid feeding - i decided these i'm going to go exactly by the pure blend pro feed schedule rather than winging it like I tend to and just see how it goes... they are all all lush green and most had their first 1 finger leaves still. I done a good job on veg :) if we have time we might take a few cuts... i need to get to bed though... everyone's lookin good buds are buddin... still worried about those few that are really yellowing at a rapid pace... hoping the nutes they got today have enough N for them to hold onto some of those yellowing leaves a while longer

Thanks to owl coming to help I was able to get my second vertical shelf up -- yeeha it's gonna get crazy now!! I moved the shelves a bit closer to the light... so this is what we got going on now..

New vertical setup - still need to add LEDs wishing it was cooler not sure how well 4 are going to do in there
day31-vert.jpgday31-vert2.jpg

New crew out of veg... grape apollo, N'hood Kush, Sparkle, Cheese, and others... they are bigger than the current batch was when they went in so they may get pretty big (the bottom ones anyway)

Final results on the cuts.. pretty dramatic failure... i blame the heating pad :) Got 3 to survive... aos #1, cq #6 and apollo #1 or #2 (can't remember)... good thing about flower cuts is I am now going to smoke the buds of the failed cuts ;) can you saw cure on a stick? :) some purps too. anyway, those 3 have 1 or 2 roots poking out if they survive til tonight i will pot them. I still need to take a lot more cuts... gotta get it right.

Put the cuts into cups... worked out perfect -- last i checked they had only one or two roots poking through, today quite a few.

So I watered and trimmed the girls on my top shelf... got a ton of trim... took 6 cuts of Ace of spades #1 (will probably have some extras!!), 2 of genius x deep chunk and 2 of cheesequake #1

Mmmm just took a smoke on some quick dried ace... got a hint of black cherry soda in the flavor... nice!

Ace Buds - I'm not 100% sure whether this first pic is ace or genius x deep chunk... think it's ace

Veg report:

Cuttings continuing to do solid.... I watered'em yesterday and gave'm some nutes, and they seemed to respond well... ace #4 is getting big! With big fat deep green fan leaves too.... i'm training the shit out of her, she has about 6 or so colas at the moment, but i just topped/FIMed most of them so it's gonna be more like 12 soon :) I FIMed all the other cuts as well. Sparkle is getting long I don't say tall because she's tied down ;) she'd be very tall if not -- she's grown all the way out to the edge of the pot and i am training her to circle the edge now :) I've got a hella gnat infection in that room from me leaving too much standing water around that didn't evaporate quick enough... it's gonna be time to slaughter some gnats this weekend... honeypot... DE.... sticky yellow things... i'll probably pick up some gnatrol but they won't need to be watered again for like a week after yesterday... i'm gonna let'em get pretty close to dry by then all the second round cuts should have roots pretty spread throughout those pots

Everyone's doing great... only issue I have besides the gnats is that a couple of the plants are yellowing very rapidly for it only being day 34... i still gotta make it 3 more weeks at least... i gave the yellowing plants an N boost tonight nothing crazy but higher N than P - last they'll get after this if they lose'em they lose'em. I just hope I get at least 1.5oz off these 1.5g pots. They're gonna have to be some fat dense buds for that to happen.

You're up late. I feel like I just don't get to spend enough time at home these days to mess with my grow

Well the girl is what drags me out. She's decided she wants kids, I still don't unless they're non human.

It's by a breeder called Cannacopia - the genius cutting that apollo comes crossed with a 100% indica called deep chunk. Definitely has more indica in it than apollo. Frostier than my apollos as well. i've got some early buds i'm gonna try later

Here are my veg plants... i'm hardly ever in there during the day but where they are at they are actually getting daylight through the window where they are in addition to the LED... no wonder this sucker is getting big! It is already bigger with more branches than the AoS were when they went to flower... bigger stems, bigger fan leaves, i'm gonna give it 2 or 3 more weeks of veg -- just FIMed most of the branches so next week there's gonna be twice as many as you see in the pic now :) Others looking good... they are deep nitrogened....i've definitely decided in the future i'm gonna make sure the plants are as deep dark green without ramhorning them as i can get them immediately before going into flower... that way they can fight off some of the yellowing due to flower nutes early on better than they did this time. I think a lot of the yellowing is due to the smaller pot sizes though. The ace of spades pictured below is already in a 3.4 gallon pot :) At this point maybe I'll veg her until nov harvest of the 5 gallons and put her in a 5 gallon before flower :) She'll get mammoth. You can see the new cuts in some of these pics too... hopefully they start getting some nutes soon i just gave'm water... may have to give'm a tiny dose of compost tea nutes. Your cuts are still stretching roots owl.... i'm sure once they grow into that big pot they're gonna start taking off like the ace :)

Went to the hydro store... this gnat infestation cost me a bag of roots!! I ended up only getting 3 instead of 4 due to having to get gnatrol and some sticky strips to take care of the gnats up there.

I did it... I went ahead and got 4 x 48" T8 32-watt Reptisun 10.0 UV bulbs - highest UV output you can get same ones a lot of zoos use apparently. Also got a 10.0 24w CFL. So probably gonna put one hanging right above my top shelf and one on a stand at the level of the first shelf (or attached to first shelf somehow. I still gotta get 4' fixtures and decide whether to go with 2 UV bulbs per shelf for one set of shelves or get 4 HO daylight bulbs and get'em on both shelves. I'm not sure I wanna do all 4 yet, so may just hook them all one shelf for now and switch them out when I get the fixtures going on the other shelves. I guess we'll see if this shit works... worst case scenario i'm only out a bit over $100 and i'm gonna yield more from the extra bulb wattages.... hoping it takes everything up a notch further to get the best of both worlds -- outdoor uv exposure (or close) and indoor quality

Ohhhhh so I was noticing how the Genius x Deep Chunk is even more frosty than Ace #4... so i quick dried some that I trimmed last night... and it is good... it is good... in fact, it even inspired a nickname for her cuttings (hope one survives) -- EVA. As in Extra Vehicular Activity as in a space walk :) I wanted to name her skywalker but that one's already taken ;) You can definitely feel the indica influence full on and it is the kind of indica i like... the kind that makes you feel all floaty and slow mo and tingly :) I'll be pretty psyched if one of her two cuts takes -- she's definitely worth seeing where she goes in time... so she is the second of this batch to get a name... the first being Ace #4 (the one i have a cut of pictured above in veg) -- her name is Big Red, because she reminds me of the flavor of big red soda (except even better)

Got around to watering the last couple of bottom shelf girls... the apollo before I said was the super branchy one looks like it may be the keeper... will NOT be the winner on yield as the buds are much smaller without much 'meat' on them compared to the other apollos... but everything is super frosty definitely the frostiest apollo and sub says the smaller yielding phenos are usually the most potent.. she looks like it... she's continued her super branchiness i'm gonna have to lollipop her in the morning and take cuttings... she has TONS of branches perfect for cuts... looks like she will be a late bloomer too i'm guessing she's gonna be a 63-70 day girl probably closer or over 70. I'm definitely gonna want a cut of her... and should not have a problem getting one with all the branches available. the other one next to her is the other genius x deep chunk... she is packing on weight and looks like she'll be a good yielder, and she's definitely frosty enough, but not exceptionally frosty like sis. i may take a few samples and only take cuts if it's impressive enough to think it might be worth it (like sis)

everything's looking real good... i'm concerned yields aren't gonna be as high as i hoped though... especially on the ace of spades and cheesequakes... pretty sure the apollos and deep chunks will give me the yield i'm looking for... and maybe the CQs... but ace looks like they are gonna be light yielders unless those spears at the top blow up like crazy at the end and somehow turn into 1/2 oz massive buds at the top... i don't see that happening... have no doubts that yield won't be an issue on the cutting in veg -- she's gonna be big with tons of colas..... i think these aces needed more veg time though -- hopefully i'm wrong and they blow up. i'm having a hard time seeing getting 1.5oz each off those things.

Pulled the 2 bottom shelf girls I pulled out last night and got cuttings from them... i got a ton of apollo cuts from the super branchy pheno (6) -- looks like apollo cuts may be available soon ;) it looks like it's gonna be the keeper... very resiny more so than the others, and a little longer flowerer or lower yielder (sub says the low yielders are usually the keepers). Took outdoor shots of the bottom shelf girls.
