VERY very close call - how stupid? You will be shocked

] Last night I decided to spray my plants with some thrip killer. Waited until lights had just gone off and in my wisdom decided to cover the 600w HPS bulb with a towel to protect it from the spray and yes you've guessed it I forgot to take the towel off. Went in this morning and this is what I found:cuss::fire::dunce::dunce::dunce:

I have ruined my Adjusta Wing hood a brand new bulb and probably a full crop of plants 1 week into flower, but do you know I don't give a flying feck as it could have been so much worse. Very, very lucky.

Glad you're ok, but I'm having to fight so hard to not make some kind of joke along the lines of 'now that is some fire weed' or 'looks like you might have some burnt tips, may want to back off the nutes'.... I'm not going to though because grow saftey is far too often overlooked, even by experienced growers, and this is a great lesson for everyone about how high the stakes can be. Be safe out there everybody.

so glad you had this gentle wake up, that really could of gone badly, bless your level headed response too, i respect that, just stuff after all. glad you made it.

I’ve done the exact same thing and forgot to remove the cardboard I’d put under the wing while spraying. Luckily I remembered just as I got into bed that night!!

So glad that’s all that happened with you. You’re right you’re soooooo lucky nothing worse happened.!!

Terrible loss .
I would put money on it that you will NEVER make this mistake ever again .
Hopefully , others will learn from your post and not make the same mistake .
As you have said , it could have been worse .

Very lucky my friend and so glad it wasn't worse.

I wouldn't likely hear a smoke alarm going off down in my dungeon so want to find some sort of remote alarm or some such.

Something to warn of water leaks would be nice too. ;)
