Well the rain is starting, im thinking if i can get through this period now thru tonight and behind this front looking like some good days ahead next week. I want two more weeks, i have sampled from dead limb a couple weeks ago and good buzz so i think i will be safe to harvest soon. Outside a few minutes ago cleaning the girls up and got a camera trich shot . Va Smile I agree on the not so large colas being better around here with the high humidity! These are average but nice and long! Sorry for all the pics, lol. But they never look or smell as good as they do live!

Hello my fellow VA growers! I'm minutes from the Blue Ridge Pkwy, about an hour from Cville, Hburg, and Roanoke. VA boy all my life, originally from Alexandria.

I've got some outdoor growing experience and hope to grow some monsters next season. Currently on my 2nd indoor run, growing krippy kush by purple caper. These ladies are in build-a-soil 3.0, only fed powder nutrients by top dress or tea. About day 44 of flower in the shots. Setup is an AC infinity 4x4 w/ Mars hydro fc-e6500.

Beautiful plants, we're neighbors practically. I can walk to the Blue Ridge Parkway through the woods. It's a few miles away as the crow flies.

I am coming to the realization that I cannot maintain a second location with my new work schedule, so I'm out the outdoor game for a while .

Maybe grab another tent for indoor to make up for the yield. Less bugs, disease and stress about weather indoors.

Outdoor operation was all about experimenting and learning it was a lot of time/effort with little ROI. I got my house running to the legal limits doing more then I need for my own habits(don't sell) it was nice having a place to take risk and push limits but it's not a major hit on anything other then fun. Fun is not the priority when you got young kids

First offense was a good 6 offenses ago. 2 Fs. They don't get a reason to take me away from my children for a day.

Same here lol. But the penalty for growing more than 4 but no more than 10 is only a civil offense with a small fine. Not even a misdemeanor.

and i’ve even heard most police will let you keep whichever 4 you want lol.

I’ve been looking for VA-specific info and noticed that they were scattered all over the site. Thought it might be easier to have one thread that gathers everything for VA. The purpose of this thread is to unite Virginia growers so we can all share our experiences, tips, tricks, recipes, etc., and keep the Virginia marijuana community growing.


I’ll start it off.
Total newbie to growing (and even to gardening).
First grow. Growing two plants outdoors. Don't have an indoor setup.
Even though I've done something wrong at nearly every stage, my plants appear to be doing fairly well.
They're not ready to harvest yet, but guessing in the next 2-4 weeks?
But, the weather is quickly cooling off with lots of rain.
It's in the 50's today.
How much do I need to worry about possible negative effects caused by the weather?
I keep hearing about bud rot, etc.
What can I (should I) do to take these two plants across the finish line?

Hope there’s some interest in a VA thread.

Thanks for the help w. the bud rot! I cut away all the sick areas and 9 days later, still not seeing any more rot. Of course, I've also brought them into the garage and put a fan on them, so no more cold rainy days!

Are my girls close to harvest time? First time growing, so not sure if these trichomes are considered cloudy or not. Definitely not seeing any amber yet!

Thanks for the help w. the bud rot! I cut away all the sick areas and 9 days later, still not seeing any more rot. Of course, I've also brought them into the garage and put a fan on them, so no more cold rainy days!

Your ladies are looking great. Do you have a jewelers loupe or anything to zoom in on the trichs? It's hard to tell with the naked eye. Once a majority of the hairs have turned orange, it'll be time to chop. I wouldn't chop yet.

Well yall, Getting really close now, think i may take some upper partials towards the end of this upcoming week. Shooting for two more weeks, (let me know if you think thats too long please!)This is from a Golden Tiger clone that i grew from seed last winter Indoors. She has been in the dirt outside since late April. All photos are from different buds. This will (hopefully) be my first successful outdoor grow. I was 0- last summer , Learned a lot this year. Hopefully ill be crossing the finish line soon! Based on my last run , this is a really good and potent sativa with strong thai accents, look forward to blasting off soon! Hope everyone has a great week!

@Mr.DS-420 - thanks for that pic. I have a jeweler's loupe and am still having difficulty figuring it out. In your picture, is it ready to chop? I see Mostly clear w. some cloudy and very few amber. But I just might not be reading the picture right!

Thanks , Yes, in 15 ish gal pots. The last time I measured them was in July/August i think when they were at 110” from soil. It was getting to tough to measure them by myself safely so i stopped. They sure grew A lot larger than I ever expected!

Not ready to chop in that pic, maybe a week or more. Most go for 95% cloudy/5% amber. Take your phone and focus it on the loupe and snap a shot. It's way to much of a pain trying to focus through the loupe, strains my eyes.

Guess this will be my last week, harvested a couple branches off the one on the left last night and going to take the rest of that plant on Friday evening and the other plant will come down by monday to avoid upcoming rain. Figure yall tired of my pics by now so just took a couple from a different angle so as to try not to be too bore-ing yall!
