Wage Gap between richest 1% and poorest 1% by state

How do you feel about this kind of income inequality in America in 2016?

If the average American felt like the community was there for them, they'd be much more inclined to be there for the community.

I know this because that community spirit is still alive and well in some parts of the country, like small towns in the West. In such places, people still help one another without expecting anything in return.

This ideal has long since vanished in America big cities and depressed areas.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Sense of community exists allover, not just out west. Why would you think that? I always help my neighbors by doing little odds n ends kinds of things, and in return they do small things for me, it's nothing that's expected. I don't need to have anything in return, I don't mind helping people, I enjoy it, it makes me feel good.

It's there in the city/urban areas also, have you ever been in the "hood"? They look out for one another, very tight knit.

I do plenty of both.

I'm speaking from personal experience. Out West in smaller towns, people are generally willing to help a stranger, no questions asked. In bigger cities like Denver and back East such as South Florida, not so much.

I realize I'm one person and my experience is perforce subjective. Of course YMMV.

But as a general trend...
