Want to transfer dirt clones to aeroponic system...please help

looks good, but if I were you I would get those lights alot closer to those clones. if those are 42w flouros about 6in away from the tops would work.
Howdy PF! I got the chance to move up the clones about six inches, by adding another pop-tray beneath the tote. They are looking good. Two are a little smaller than I planned on taking, but they all seem to be looking good.
? Should I wait to add a weak nutrient solution to the clones, or is it OK to add about a 25% strength batch to the res?

My 3-soil-to-aeroponics ladies are really kicking in. I added a batch of 2-part Flora Nova GROW and BLOOM. I checked my PH after and it is perfect at about 5.8. Lots of new leaf production, and the roots have about tripled since my last post. :joint:

I finally transplanted the 2 ChaRLIE bROWN X-mas tree clones into buckets yesterday. I used some smart soil, and aerated it with hydroton on the bottom, and a little mixed through-out. I was leaning towards building a 3 chamber bubbler to just let them flower in, but seeing as to how they were already in bud stage and root-bound when I first got them, I felt the shock of sending them to a hydro unit might kill, or greatly decrease their life span. I will be interesting to see what happens. I'll take pictures and keep everyone posted, as soon as I have any results.

I'm having fun, and I never thought gardening/farming could be this enjoyable.:peace:

usually you start clones off in a weak solution so 25% should be fine. if your using flora nova than you only need to use the grow for veg and use only the bloom for flower. I use floranova and also use floralicios plus and the liquid koolbloom as suppliments.

looking good bro... very nice job...

as was said, get them lights as close as possible... if you can even get them closer than 6 inches thats even better!!

keep me updated on how things are going.. looks like your off to a great start tho!

Thanks SS420! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and waiting for the roots/bumps to start showing on my clones. Ever since I raised the cloner tote closer to my light source, a few nights back, the leaves on my clones seem to be growing very rapidly. I used a weak solution of Flora Nova to help them. I do have a question:
My local hydro supplier suggested the 2-part Flora Nova nutes. He said I'm supposed to use both the GROW and the BLOOM at the same time, mixed separately, and even showed me how they both have suggestions on how much should be used for seedlings and clones. This is exactly what I used.
:?:Is this correct? A friend told me I'm wrong, and I should only use GROW for veg, and BLOOM for flower. Why a 2-part system then? Any clarification would be greatly appreciated.
I know I had good luck with Miracle Grow for roses on my outside girls in the past, but that was a simple one part liquid. IF I could use that in my grow lab, I still have a big bottle left.
My soil to aero girls are being to look Amazoanian:leaf: which is just too cool. I'll get a few pics up later. Thanks again!

here is General hydroponics feed chart for floranova. are you using floranova or just the regular flora line? http://generalhydroponics.com/genhydro_US/feeding_charts/GH_KeepItSimple_Recirculating.pdf

Howdy PF, Nice work! That chart was simple and very informative. I'm using the Flora Nova 2-part system.
  • I do not know why in the hell the guy at the local hydro shop would give me such bad advice about the nutes. Perhaps he is just ignorant about the FLORA NOVA 2 part system?
  • And why does the label on the back on the FLORA NOVA Bloom say that 2.5 ml/gal can be added to seedlings or clones?
Oh well, at least I know now. I hope I didn't screw things up adding the BLOOM to my cloner res. I learn something new everyday. Hopefully, I can recover from this mistake. At least I didn't get screwed over as bad as my beloved Chicago Bears did last night. Still hurts today. Thanks again PF, you kept me from hurting my new clones.:bigjoint:

youll be alright its not that big of deal. there is actually a thing they call the lucas formula that only uses the bloom nutes from start to finish. the guy may have more experience with these nutes than I do. but the way I look at it is why use the bloom with the grow if you dont have to. it saves money on nutes and you dont have to worry about mixing two different solutions and keep trying to figure out what ratio you have in your res when you add top off nutes. I follow the gh sites system and use the floralicious plus and liquid koolbloom and so far I think it works fairly well. I also like to add just plain phd water every other top off to keep to many salts and solids from building up and do a complete res change every week atleast every other week and give them fresh nutes.if you get a ppm meter it will actually tell you how much your plants are eating not exactly what but how much. example if you set your ppm at 1000 and the next day they have drank a gallon of water and the ppm stays the same they ate and drank an equal ampunt of water and nutes. if the ppm rises than they drank more water than they ate nutes and vice versa. so if your plants are drinking more water than eating you can add plain phd water back and it will bring your ppm back down to where you had it. I think I said all that right.

Howdy Everyone! I took some pics to share. My soil-to-aero girls growth is pretty amazing, crazy root growth, and wild lush new leaf production.:-o I increased my nutes slightly as directed by the instructions on the Flora Nova GROW. My ph is 5.8.
My 1st clones I took last week, are just starting to get nubs/roots. The leaves are very healthy, and all appears to be right on track.
I was forced to bring in a big healthy budding outdoor Pinny Paralyser plant, low-flying MJ detection planes suck, and I am thinking:idea: about washing it too, and trying to further flower it in my flowering chamber. I don't know if it will hurt, or help, as I am too green, and a real indoor newbie. If I could make its buds bigger that would be very very nice.:weed: Any suggestions?

looking good man, looks like your thumb is turning green as we speak. I tend to try and not bring in anything from the outdoors cause you never no what your bringing in besides the plant. I would personally just leave that one in dirt to finish that way you dont risk the roots transferring anything you dont want into your res but really thats up to you you should be fine either way. you could make a 5g dwc steup for just that plant and that would keep it from contamintaing your other res. they are simple enought and only cost about $15 or so to build and might give you a little piece of mind. hey ss420 I wanted to say earlier thats a nice looking dog in your sig is it pure pit? it looks that way. keep up the good work hairpulledout.

Howdy PF! Great idea using a 5 gallon DWC bubbler. I think I'll play it safe and let this pretty PPlyser girl stay in soil. Killing or harming her during budding would be serious bad kharma.:peace:
My first clones are really breaking loose with some roots! I will post a pic soon.
I'm speechless to describe the immense growth of my 3 soil to aero girls. BIG, BUSHY, VIBRANT, and only 19 days since I washed their roots of soil. I'm so happy with their progress. :eyesmoke:
The Bears will win tomorrow. My pug told me so. Besides, God has the fix on for his and my fave NFL team. I'm going to relax, kick back and get football stupid with some fresh PPlyser that found its way into my happy hands.:joint:

Great looking dogs PF and SS420! I can't burp without alarming my wifes pug 6-pack featuring stud extraordinaire, Lil Mel Gibson, and his male heirs; Big Turbowski, and Beefcake the Mighty. At least they keep me on my toes. The females, Kagome, Spunky, and Raisin are the real instigators though.

just stopping by to see how things are goin. they should be taking off pretty good by now eh.
Howdy PF! Been very busy. My soil-to-aero grow is just about ready to go into my newly built flowering chamber. I'm having AMAZING results. See enclosed pics of growth and roots. I've got more to post. Keep your eyes peeled! later:joint:

Howdy everyone, I've posted the pics of my first new clones. They are about 11 days old in these pics. My roots are thriving in the aeroponics cloner I built. I'm ready to transfer them into a new aero-vegger I just built. The mother is a Paralyser strain renowned for its intense MEDICAL strength.:peace:

I got the chance to manicure the MJ from my outdoor grow. They were beauties, top heavy with colas, so much so the were practically bent over from their own weight!
I have some pics of the drying buds, hanging in my grow room. My yield ended up a little less than 2 ozs.
I was hoping for more, but that new super corn grows tall and hogs all of the light. The actual size of the buds diminished almost 60% after 5 days of drying/curing.
Somehow, I ended up losing about 25% of my dried little gems, I'm not sure if it was the South Park under-wear GNOMES who hassle Tweak, or stoner poltergeists(if this is the case we are all fuct), but I'm probably 99.9 % sure it was my :twisted:significant other:twisted: who kidnapped, and then casually denied, but couldn't lose the evil little infidel smile.:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted:.
Oh well, shit happens, at least I got to try it out.:joint: Wow, very, very cool, too bad I can't get out of the impulse buy lane at the local grocery store.:eyesmoke: More to come! Pics of my new flowering chamber. Later!:peace:

Budding! This Paralyser is budding, and it will finish off inside my grow lab flowering room. The plant is sticky, stinky, and just about one soild bud from stem to top. Ever since I put it beneath the 1000 HPS for 12/12 light, it is showing some amazing new bud growth. I'll keep everybody posted.:peace:

Howdy everyone. I finally was able to get my grow lab divider wall framed.:eyesmoke: I used 2x4s and frenched the door opening out in the grow chamber with 2x6s so I can use a sliding door easily. I've got it ready to drywall. Once I get this completed, it gives me a flowering chamber that is 4' wide x 8' long x 8' high powered by a 1000 watt HPS.

looking good man. one thing though you should be drying those buds in complete darkness and knock those fan leaves off before you hang em. light seriously diminishes thc during the drying process. you only want to expose them to light for a short period of time while you check them to make sure they are not molding like once a day. everything is looking good though that big cola you got hanging looks like a couple of mine Ill have to throw some pics up here later for ya. peace!
