You just made one more mistake....very big.

Cell phone pics.....Never, EVER, post Pics from a cell phone.... Why?

Because they contain "Exif" data which tells you almost everything about the camera. (type, settings, brand, etc...)

But they can also contain GPS info, depending upon what type of phone camera.

I ran your pictures through an exif program, and was able to pinpoint your exact location when these were taken.

You live in an Apartment building right on the freeway in LA.



Please...Dont ever post pictures taken from cell phones guys...we dont need anyone getting busted.

what about basements? this might be a really dumb question but in my basement i have no reception, its concrete and cinder block, pretty much like a bomb shelter, if i used my cell would it still show?,i don't but my digital camera might have gps

Not sure on that one but i guess with no reception then it should be ok ,i would still turn off any tagging functions as explained earlier..
 
well were i live the feds are already flying over looking at my plants and everyones else up here. we dont care thoe...LOL

excuse me if im wrong but have younot just given away someones location by posting that picture. youre talking about security then you post a photo with a members home with an arrow saying come raid my home

Wally if you read the post you would understand that that Quote plus pic was taken from another forum 400watt , by starting this thread isnt it the same thing cause now you know how to do it dont you..? so whats ur point really.. Im spreadimg good info nothing else bro ..

do you guys also use proxies. if someone wanted to find you enough, all they would have to do is dig up your IP address.
 
Can proxy sites be trusted? I've looked them up, but don't understand them enough to trust using them.

i ended up w/ a virus real quick just researching proxy's, and i'm real careful about not downloading crap and have protection software...i swear theres junk still on my computer from that...just my experience though

kool .. I dont know how those things work so i cant really comment, but i know how easy this exif data works ,and i have checked many pics out with it myself.Its just a simple step you can take and if you really want you can go down other lines of security..

Thanks rupert ..Didnt know blackberry encrypts like that.. I thought blackberry would be one of the worst offenders, nearly eveyone i know has one except me.

I rarely download off sites , had to many virus in the past just like you my p.c's still moving slow..

I post a sign on my grow room door NO CELL PHONE PICS to remind me and anyone I take to the garden to not take any cell phone pics regardless if its not a smart phone ..
