there’s sooo many factors on end result but I must admit in cannabis industry/farming we as farmers overall are lacking if not most important step and that’s proper process and cure. Look at wine to hard booz to cigars, shoot even cheap to costly versions it’s all still done correctly and many steps. The steps in cannabis in such are obvious and once u get to that level you can easily spot the mistakes in process/cure from soo much of the industry . if anything that part imo is the most and obvious reason why so many good strains get lost cause bad growers skip steps and make the crop shitty and everyone who didn’t sample it from good growers thats why like for example gg4,og kush, blue dream aren’t sellable . good grower and if people didn’t know names but quality only these strains def would still be top dawgs on most menu’s.
How long did it take to dry? if under 14 days that’s a huge part of “harshness “
once I got my harvest/dry room down and could control like a Cigar box/humidor I dry to 14-30 days, use a wood moisture meter and de-stem at 15%moisture , finish product I want 8-12%. immediately I add a 62% humidity pack after de-stemming and if I can I’ll leave enough stem to hold the flower by stem and never touch the flower but biggest thing is if leaving on stem it will 100% last better/shelf life but also ur preserving it way better.

key in a dry room is to also have airflow but never have the airflow hit directly on buds. Also I noticed when I wet trimmed and skipped steps that’s a huge reason why it tasted like shit. another blind part is once it’s in storage for the first 3-7 days u need to de-gas/burp the storage of ur cannabis for 30min-1hr each day. If you don’t you’ll def see even if everything else is done correctly everything will become chlorophyll smell/taste . Also in a dry room please look into drying ur bud/plants as non pre-trimmed and on a line. i Invested god knows into custom built 50ft long around Room drying racks and multi levels/stackable. there’s no way I would suggest that and a grow Line is sooo much better but also guratee of cross contamination . its Easy get a hook on both ends, get heavy duty wire, make A ring on end of line and than I use adjustable grow room light hangers ( so I can tighten line ). if ur limited in space this is amazing way but also u can even make more room by cutting plants into pieces and putting them on clothes hangers . biggest thing I learned on that part is having good quality metal clothes hangers but also the grow line needs to be heavy duty since if u use low grade it will work at first than very quickly u could break line or have everything (flower) dropping to middle. I even use clothes pins to make sure the hangers are separated
in a dry room/storage you need proper rh (60-62%) , no light , airflow and temps under 68f, I try to get it if doable under 50f. as a cheap storage I suggest getting turkey bags than put ur turkey bags in a tout or bucket. Then add a weight to the top of tout top and that will def make it even more “sealed” than a jar . God I’m soo glad I dont use jars for every plant now and only stash
