whats the best way/cheapest to cool it ? if i get one of those reflectors with the cool tube would i still need an inline fan? also Im still debating on if i should just use the closet or get a tent the pros and cons of both

has an in take and out take, takes up most of the room
convenient and accesible
but another thing i gotta buy

its already there so i can spend more money on better supplies etc

For 2 plants a closet would do, but can you fit the tube and all tubing in there? How would you ventilate it? You can't get around the cooling process man. Not with 600w hps. Just stick to the proper way to avoid any problems. The fans are a must. You pretty much have a good idea how to start. Now do research on nutrients and how to keep the plant alive. Disease control and pest control info. Do as much research on how they grow. What technique, topped, vertical, lollipop, super crop, etc. That way you'll be prepared and you'll know how the plant looks like so then it'll be easier to transition and to distinguish what phase its at. Just get as much info on the life cycle and how to maintain it healthy and happy. I suggest that you start with a simple nutrient lineup. Get something at a cheap price like Advanced Nutrients Jungle juice 3 part bottles. Do research on flowering boosters. Research Advanced nutrients Bud ignitor, its used weeks 1-2 of flower, Advanced Nutrients Big Bud, used weeks 2-4 of flower and Advanced Nutrients Overdrive used weeks 4-6 of flower. The nutrients get expensive and there are tons of them. People will always disagree on nutes. I'm using that lineup because I got 50% off at my hydro store. It was a home thing. So find out what you'll need for veg and then what to use for flower. I'll post links to show you. Like I said, get ready for people to tell you not to use this and that. You were warned. Haha.

If your trying to save money you can easily rig up a tent on your own just look for cheap canvas closets on amazon or something (I found mine at Ikea and they are actually made of fabric like a tent, for the equivalent of roughly $25 a piece) then bought mylar sheeting and basically wrapped the interior in it and cut holes for ducting it worked perfectly. If you're looking for info on just general growing and stuff a good place to start is watching the "I grow chronic" videos on youtube just to give you an idea of some ways of going about it, heres the link --> Hydro stores in my area tend to crank the prices up for normal things so I try to only buy whatever I can elsewhere and theres a lot of diy tutorials on setting up all kinds of rigs. You just need to do some research and come up any method and then just give it a go. The first run probably isn't going to give you amazing results anyway so you should really just go cheap the first time until you have an idea of what kind of things you want to spend the money on, there are the basics like lighting and stuff but I mean i started with pumps and everything all set up and I've now switched to hand watering just because I like being able to choose more carefully how much I water my plants and taking a look at each one individually I feel like I learnt a lot more from looking at it that way. Ventilation is a bit of a bitch but thats one thing your going to want to make sure you're not short on because it helps dealing with heat issues as well as giving the plants proper amounts of oxygen.

So with 600 w kit and that plus duct fans and vent tubes etc, maybe 3-350? Maybe even cheaper if you make the tent. Do you have a cold source you're going to be drawing air from? Not the grow tent temperature, by an outside source. Maybe 68 degrees f. Or below 75. At least. You will need to throw out the air as well. Where would you redirect it too? For the links, I just watched videos on YouTube and read high times magazines. Just Google how to grow like a pro. Then plant life cycle them how to keep my plant happy and healthy. Learn about males and females. What signs to look for and how to grow in general. Its good old Google method. But newbie central on here and other forums should be help for an inside source.

ok well i didn't know i needed a cold source too what do you do about that it stays 68 to 72 in my house so i just can't use that air? and for redirecting it i was thinking of cutting a hole in the cieling and letting it flow into the attic hows that sound?

Your attic is perfect. Just make sure your attic entrance is sealed so no smell will escape.

Maybe if you put it under your vent some how? Research it. I don't know for sure. If you have a window ac that would help too. But then again, electricity is a a pain in the butt. Haha

oya its gona smell well fuck!!! what do u mean under my vent? and i don't know what to do about cool air i mean my house has an air conditioner so if it stays below 80 and I'm sucking the air out into the attic i shouldn't need a cold source right....... what do people do on here ?

For your cold source coming in, try and see if the tube can be directly under or close o the vent throwing out the cold air from your house. Well you need a cold source if not you'll just be osculating hot ass air. Which is practically the same as not having a cool tube. Don't you think? Try to Google ghetto setups. Haha I'm sure they're out there. No shame in the cheap game.

Havent read all the posts, but imo dont waste money on a tent if you have a perfectly good closet. Go to home depot and get a cheap door. Cut a hole in the top for your outtake and a hole in the bottom for your intake. Easy, and saves you 150 dollars

ok so i googled some pics about how to vent weed grows and most of them just show an inline fan coming of the light setup and going to wherever i don't see a cold source being feed at least for most of them unless its a professional grow room i do see some with little air conditioners but idk this shits getting overwhelming hahahaha

Well you can do that but have one cold ass grow room. Like 70-75. But one with two sided fans are more likely to be effective without worrying much about the bulb heating up your room. So this picture shows just throwing air out. Which remember no window if you throw it out to your attic. Which I've heard of people doing and not having issues. If you decide on closet you have to make holes and have a good sealed room to keep your temp cold. How would you get the closet to a right temp? Do you have a portable ac? Do you have wrapping material like mylar to cover your walls. Either way you decide to go, you'll be growing mj soon. Have you decided on seeds?

You don't need a cold source or anything man I have mine venting in from my room mates room i mean granted its right by the window which we leave open now that its summer, but yeah the ducting just hangs out the bottom of the closet for veg and I've put a passive intake and exhaust in so all in all that works fine for my cfl veg tent but if it doesn't I just freeze some 6L milk bottles and put them in my tent right by the pots, so long as they are sealed and it doesn't create a shit ton too much humidity its fine like you could probably just use a bunch of frozen peas if you didn't have any bottles lying around, just beware if you hang things they will drip. Really like you can figure out almost anything with a little common sense you don't have to spend a bunch of money on expensive kits and stuff just take an hour or two to research different methods of doing things before you invest your time and effort in it because its pretty shitty when things don't work. But immediately you just need your
seeds/clones
growth media
tent/room
pots (or solo cups for the first while)
nutrients (although you probably won't need these for the first week or so at least if your growing from seed)
some vague form of ventilation (could just be an open window although beware of bugs)
an oscillating fan (but thats also not really important for the first week)
lights for the start so cfl probably
and ph and ppm testing kits (I use like a drip ph test kit rather than digital because its cheap as hell and finding a cheap ppm meter on amazon is a piece of cake all in all should be $10 for both)
timers (like for your sockets to turn the lights on and off)

the rest can really pretty much be done as it goes on like when you need it, it is nice to plan ahead a bit because it saves you freaking out later looking for shit and possibly buying things at a higher than necessary price but on the plus side if you only buy things when you need them you won't buy any useless shite like I ended up with (little tip here just cos don't ask your room mates or anyone to give you a hand going out to the shops to buy things if you're the one planning everything because you will end invariably up spending more than you need)
The main thing you need to figure out is how many plants you plan on growing because all your equipment should be directly for that, for instance I have 2 plants in my veg room and 3 in flowering and I use a 200W CFL on 18/6 and a 250W HPS for flowering which has been easily enough for me so I'm not going to even think about going up to 600W because not only would it be more than twice as expensive to run it would also give me heat problems not to mention having to buy a better ballast and everything. Bigger isn't always better thats all I'm saying you just need to find the right size and i mean I have two tents up and working for ~$780 so one tent for 1000 although its undoubtedly probably got more powerful lights and vents than I do I have 2 tents so I can grow a mother out properly and take clones and run a perpetual grow plus I know how everything works because I set it all up so if theres a problem I know I can fix fix it... especially with all these useless spare parts lying around just waiting for me to take them apart. haha

ok well I've got some time to think for sure thanks for the help guys time to put some money away and make some decisions I'm sure ill be posting a lot more stuff so be on the look out hahaha
