With that soil, you should be watering every 3rd-4th day. Sometimes 5th late in flower. I always have 10-15% run-off as it rids the buildup of salts that create the problems in soil in the first place. Like @Max Ehrmann stated above . I use a mix with happy frog and always PH to 6.7-7 (especially fresh soil) the buffers (acid) in FF soils always drop the soil ph down to 6.0-6.5 in my experiences with it. I'd check your run-off ph , look for root problems, ease up on watering frequency. Those may get worse before they get better. GL :joint:

Also you don’t want any run off. If your getting run off your overwatering or under watering. Usually over. I might see a drip or 2 come out the bottom when I water.

thank you brotha I will do exactly that Do you think I can save enough leaves so the bud doesn’t have burnt leaves in them ?

They'll die off , I'd clip them once dead so you don't have that crispy shit once trimming starts. It really depends on what's being locked/deficient. Mobile nutrients def can clear up, Immobile deficiencies usually take the leaf . Just my 2c

Hmmm maybe my marshydro tsw2000 is too strong it’s 200 watts from the wall , I have one very tall plant and the other two are about 1-2 feet away from the light it’s it the top of the tent, what do you think ?

Have you measured your Ph? I would start there. If your in soil you want you ph to be between 6-7. I think yours have other issues than just light stress.

Agreed. Its your Ph. get a meter and things should improve next round.

This round, the bud is what is it is. Its not going to drastically improve before harvest even if you correct the issue now. But don't worry about dead leaves around your bud because you clip all that off before smoking anyway.

I check the PH finally and it’s between 6-7 , back to using filtered water only

I got my Ph kit in the mail, and both my filtered water and unfiltered are between 6-7. Thank you for making me feel better about the bud lol. It happened my last and first harvest ever. The bud is cured a week now and is nice and very smokeable

Be careful when adding nutrients to the water. It will drop the Ph. You should measure the water + nutrient ph prior to feeding and get about 20% run off and then measure the runoff Ph.

Ahhh okay , do you think if I just filled the pot less and did top feedings of fresh soil that would be better than liquid nutes for a beginner ? I was thinking of trying that

Not sure never tried it and I don’t know how well that would work over the life of plant. Eventually soil would add up, but provided the water would allow the nutrients if the top soil to distribute to root system it would likely work. That being said if you got a ph kit it’s not difficult to ph balance the water after adding nutrients. On my first grow I had ph issues because I was using liquid nutrients and not adjusting Ph, but I bought a blueLab combo meter and started measuring Ph and EC of water and runoff and now my grows are running smoothly.

well mine looked like that at week 5 and now at week 8 they never recovered the leaves and I tried ph ing the water and i only water evry 4th day but my buds are ok just all the leaves died by week 7 good luck i am very curious to sdee if you can save them

Yours are in way better shape then mine are , yours look like a natural transition from leaf growth to bud growth , I didn’t figure out what I did to mine. But it happened on my last plant and buds turned out great so it’s not the end of the world

I've perused the thread and come to the same conclusion, overwatering and perhaps underfeeding. Overwatering prevents nutrient uptake so the plants look deficient. A good way to figure out watering in soil is to fill up an extra pot with the same exact media, and just leave it dry, then lift your pots and compare to the dry pot. Overwatering is the #1 issue for new growers. You want soil to dry out between feeds/waterings, now if you are interested in Coco, it's a bit different. Your leaves will not recover, but you have enough leaves with chlorophyll left to get your plants past the finish line if you fix your issues. Next grow, I'd switch to Jack's part A&B, OR to make mixing even simpler, go with Maxibloom (you can run it all the way through from Veg, or get both maxibloom and gro) or Megacrop 1 part. The reason you should check out these particular nutrients is 2-fold, one, they are complete formulas with plenty of Calcium and magnesium in them, 2, they test out either low in heavy metal content, or totally free of heavy metals (in the case of Maxibloom.) Then you just need a decent PH and TDS/EC meter. You'll find that you can grow outstanding buds even with a fairly low ppm of 600 during bloom. Ph depends on soil or Coco/promix. Next round, shoot for perfect beautiful green leaves all the way through, trying not to even burn the tips-if you succeed in that, with one of those nutrients, the buds will follow. Be sure to check back before you harvest with pics because the next big issue new growers (and many long time growers) have is harvesting too early. Forget Covid, early harvest is the REAL PANDEMIC, but also, Covid is too....

Omg thank you brother ! This was very detailed and I will absolutely try that soil hahahah I couldn’t figure fox farm trio for the life of me it’s insane how complex it is , especially when it’s your second grow and you’re still learning. Thank you for taking the time to read everything and help me out I appreciate that a lot
