Weird or What!

The other day I went out to fertilize my Baby it's in a marsh so you have to bushwhack through some thick @$$ bush and ankle deep in mud and water, go throw a marsh meadow and into some thickets to where there was high enough ground to cultivate. On my way through my little path i created to my crop I found a very peculiar obstacle in my path most people wouldn't notice but a true guerrilla grower always does. Some one or something has craftily cut a bull rush and placed it inconspicuously across my little path in a way to make it out to be a blown down bull rush. But obviously I always examine my path, as I walk, to look for foreign activity. I found it weird how the bullrush had fallen the opposite direction than the rest of the wind blown rushes. So I carefully picked it up and to my surprise it had been clean cut from the base and I'm assuming placed in a particular spot to I'm guess monitor any recent activity through this once thought to be secluded path.

Now first off that is the last thing I wanted to see I would rather see a boot print or broken branches but no such luck this means that the person in pursuit of me or my crop is exceptionally cunning. Most people don't leave traps or markers in suspected paths.

My question to my fellow brothers and sisters of RIU is who do you think I am dealing with.

1. Could it be an innocent occurrence a mere coincident. That some messing around at the entrance to my path cut a bull rush and dropped it in a way were it looked threatening?

2. Could it be a crop rustler looking for some easy bud?

3. Or could it be local law enforcement curious about the paths purpose and activity?

I think it's weird and would like a second opinion.

Thank you

also called a "cattail" it's a tall grass like plant with a brown "flower" or spore pod on the top of it. It looks like a giant corndog growing around marshes / ponds

It could be any of those things. I guess you put it back the way it was. Nerve-wracking sh!t - I guerilla grow on my own property so I know if it's not me, it's just a coon or possum, lol

Ahh, ok, thanks. Yeah I'm familiar with cat tails, never heard them referred to as bull rushes.

But to the OP... I think you're just paranoid.

He's not paranoid.
Could be any of those.
Or it could be none.

I don't know man.
Only one way to find out... Let time tell.

What exactly would a disrupted cat tail prove to anyone? That someone was using the trail? Wasn't that evident already by the fact that a trail's there? If not a person trail, an animal one. And an animal could just as easily disrupt a strategically placed cat tail. So how good of proof would that be to someone? If someone really wanted to know what was going on with that trail, wouldn't they follow it to the plants, or set up a trail cam, or stalk out the place or something?

I don't know, am I missing something?

lmao i love scepticism. I don't have pics because i don't photograph my grow. By the bull rushes are not the same as cattails.. cat tails have the corn dog, bull rushes are thick long pieces of grass essentially. You have all seen them line ponds and lakes and such. As for it not meaning anything I laugh at your arrogance haha.. lmao jks jks. But seriously i went to school for natural resources and I know that bull rush didn't happen by accident nor could an animal put it there, their bases are pretty thick and it was clearly cut nice clean cut not like it was tugged off or anything. And for the path being a public path really it isn't I'm very familiar with the area as i Grow there every year I know the local animal traffic and they usually stay clear of the marsh as it is to thick to travel through it backs on a forrest with many streams so wildlife have no purpose in there usually there are only birds and small marsh mammalian species none of which cut down bullrushes and place them across my path. My path entrance is well hidden at least i thought and its hard to understand but I know people don't use it as a hiking path because like i said he bush is thick there and the path is just wide enough to walk through me being a relatively skinny individual. plus i forgot to add that the rush wasn't just cut and set on the floor more so it was hung across a bushes branch to another bushes branch about knee high give or take.

So very unlikely that it was a natural occurance?

I hope you replaced it in as you found it. How frequently do you visit your site?

Ideally placing grass across a trail would be a great way for somebody to monitor traffic down a less travelled trail. I personally don't know what I'd do in your situation, I'm so glad I am able to let my beauties grow in my yard.

to add to that my trail is off the main board walk bushes are 10 ft enclosing the board walk you have to push through one of these bushes to find the beginning of this little path amongst the 3 km swamp board walk its nearly impossible for people to discover the path. unless they were crop hunting or i was spotted from the sky because lets just say its a big big park and there is many places to hike dozens and dozens of trails thats why i picked the location because i have gone to this park all my life and i know it like the back of my hand i picked a spot that is the least accessible and where I know no one in there right mind is going to wade through marshy mud and bushes with thorns raspberry plants etc.. they were there with a purpose.

Yeah i did put it back as best as possible but i bent the bull rushes by accident when i was looking at it and I don't know if i put it exactly where i found it. But more or less i put it where i found it. And I don't know what to do either thats why i made the post. I can't relocate because my plants in the ground and like 3 ft tall so it has an established root system that i will not rip out.

i try to go once a week just because I want to make sure every things all good in the bug department a swamp has a lot of bugs haha.. But for the last few years it been the safest place to grow hard to get at filled with bugs (deterrent) wasps and bees blackflies and mosquitos. And there is so much foliage its impossible to find the plants. they blend right in.
