mg sucks cause its not promix and if you had read any of my posts i have a 150 and a 400 watt hps. cfls are great for vegging
I just did a FF, MG and Promix test. All clones from same momma. FF + PM gave me 33grams dry. MG gave me 38. (per plant) So I don't think the FF or PM is any better. I'm staying with what works best (and is a better value to boot)

Mg got water and epsom salt, and mol only in flowering (just water in veg)
PM got GH maxi series (ES and Mol in flowering)
FF got full FF nutes (ES & mol in flowering)
They all got a single shot of KoolBloom at week 5 or 6.

I'm sold that the hype around all the 'great soils and nutes' is just people justifying the $$ they spent. (and buying into all the advertising/marketing BS.)

So unless its PM it sucks? Now *thats* a great rationale.

I've been using MG for 30 yrs. It's cheap, easy to get, and it gets the job done. I really like the moisture control potting mix.

I live in a little agricultural community and theres 3 different nurserys/hydro stores and you will not pay more than $12 for a bag of quality soil. Brands like foxfarm, botanicare and aurora roots organics. FFOF is $10 a bag! Sure marijuana can grow in miracle grow but why save some measily change on cheap low quality garbage they sell at these goddamn super store outlets. Give your plants good soil in the first place so your not smoking beasters I mean shit, if a few dollars make all the difference why not be good to your plants to begin with so your smoking quality stuff. Or if you have to go MG do a full 4 week flush until the end. I just hate weed that burns up in to a chalky grey ash.

Hehe, nope. Wasn't really into taking pictures of my illegal activities back then.

Now that I'm legal, I'm considering doing an outside grow journal here. I'm thinking about doing a "More is less", "Keep it simple" kinda journal/guide. Not sure yet.

I had a few plants in mg, nothing huge just made it a little scary adding advance nutes etc in the end, prefer the control nutes give me, but nothing horrible with mg just not for control freaks.

Hey, does it look like the plant is stretching? and how sturdy is it? try the fans but on a lower setting. ususally the fans help give the plant structural strength as it tries to get a better grip in the soil.

im not really sure why your plant isnt growing well, the only thing i can think of is bad genetics?.....
im sure one of the more experienced growers on this forum can give you better advice...
any pics tho?

People all it takes is to look up your local nursery in the phonebook and they will have quality organic soil.

I hate going to the hydro shops for a number of reasons. Everything is marked up the ass in there... it's like a tourist attraction. The first one I ever went to was when I bought my FF nutes and stuff. The guy at the store totally bullshitted me on all of the nute info and what to feed and when (cleared it up for myself on their website). Last time I went to a diff store, and paid around 20 bucks for a bag of the ocean forest. I asked how much the soluble beastie bloom nutes were and they were close to $40 for that one pack. It's just $$$ out the ass at those shops, so that's why I'm now trying my $4 MG. Next time I may hit up my local nursery and see what happens.

the hydro store I shop at is cheaper than anything online and they give you a 10% discount on everything.
