What are the top 3 strains you've ever grown and why?

1. Shiva Shanti by Sensi Seeds. It was the first strain I ever grew. I bought the seeds whilst wasted in Amsterdam. It had a lovely Purple phenotype that I cloned for years, it was back when I sold it to make extra cash. People would pay extra for the Purple.

2. A "California Orange" I got as a clone off a mate. I cloned that plant hundreds of times.

3. Banana Frosting by Sensi Seeds. A new for 2020 strain. Seriously good. It gives a nice cerebral high mixed with a good body buzz. It is a strange one to grow, once you think it is done it starts putting on weight. It's a 10 weeker for sure, but is well worth the wait. I got 9oz from 3 plants. I have a whole bunch of seeds to put on and some new strains just finishing. Next year I plan to do a full dozen of them and keep the best one as a mother, shes a keeper.
I picked up a pack of Shiva Shanti aka Mazari Sharif, Garlic Bud, on that trip to Amsterdam in 94, but I couldn't get a 1 of them to sprout.
I never did get to sample those.

Silver Haze and Super Silver Haze are different, but similar strains.
Silver Haze is Silver Pearl x Haze.
Silver Pearl=(Early Pearl x Sk#1 x NL#5
)
Silver Haze dates to the late 80's bred by Nevil and sold through his Seedbank, which he sold to Sensi Seeds after getting busted.

Super Silver Haze is a creation of Shantibaba from Greenhouse, who took it to Mr. Nice seedbank after his departure from Greenhouse.
I'll quote Shantibaba here.
Super Silver Haze is made up of Haze C combined to Skunk 1 or Skunk HzC which is the male side, and the female side is Haze C combined to NL5 or NL5HzC.

I've heard mixed reviews as of late, but Mr. Nice should be the best place to get some Super Silver Haze.
As for Silver Haze, I wouldn't buy anything, now days, from Sensi Seeds.

Shiva - Landrace strain, strongest indica I ever smoked. Heavy yielder and truly ripe at 60 days of 12/12. Couldn't build a tolerance to this strain, everyone commented on that. I would pay good money for real Shiva seeds, not the Shiva Skunk or Shiva Shanti but straight Shiva. I picked it up off Nirvana back in the early 2000's.

Kandy Kush - The Trainwreck pheno. Lemony, piney smell with a gassy note as she got ripe. Mega yielder with huge dense nugs. Very frosty and yummy. Very up beat energy high, good daytime smoke for me.

GG4 - Because it's the glue, had my cut tested at 31% and the yields are almost as good as the Kandy Kush.
Ya, Kandy Kush was the bomb. GG4 is on my list to grow soon.

Have you ever grown the clone only landrace Durban Poison?

It's something thats not been messed with by breeders, something that was locally cultivated in a region before outside genetics came in. Shiva is from the India Pakistan border. The plant evolved to be perfect for a SoG system.

Weren't the 90's great? Cindy Crawford was selling Pepsi doing a dam fine job of it, and Bill Cosby was known as a lovable comedian frequently appearing in pudding pop commercials. Cindy's still looking good. Things kinda went the other direction for Cosby :)

Super silver haze was actually nevils creation. No one including shanti has ever made it the same way nevil did thats why its so hard to find the old ssh now.

1. AK-47 Serious Seeds - 2009: Ran her for almost 3 years. She yielded very well even under my severely under-powered lights, basically I could do no wrong with her which was good, because after 12 years of learning, I did a lot wrong and she still loved me regardless. I'm considering getting their current pheno and seeing what I could do with her after a decade of practice.

2. Dairy Queen: TGA - Subcool, 2014. Nice smooth smoke, yielded well, produced really sweet oil from the trim, worked well in my system back then. Friends came back a lot to smoke her with me. She was an all around crowd pleasing flower.

3. Think Fast by Dutch Passion 2020. My current girl is probably one of my favorites. Really sweet flavor right out of the drying closet, flavor profiles develop and change dramatically after about 2 months of curing and she can be a one hit-quit after full cure. Plays very nicely with the Nectar nutrients and absolutely loves being blasted with the full power of the HLG330 R-spec in flower. Yielded an even pound in 1/2 m/s closet.

Runner Up Critical Sensi-Star - Delicious Seeds. She was a great plant, yielded well and tasted great but my personal flavor leans towards sativas, and for an indica dom, she was one of the best I ran.

Most difficult Tangi: DNA genetics. 2015 I don't know if it was the pheno or just my little 450w HPS back then, but she crawled up and over my light after growing into it real fast after flipping to flower. Went from short and bushy to leggy, almost a vine within a week of flipping to flower. Her buds were sometimes inches apart and really tiny. I honestly think she just needed more light than I had in my closet. The upside was she gave me the best tasting BHO I've ever made and the yield of BHO was quit impressive even if the flower yield wasn't.

Shrug

Don't know, I've seen some pretty succsessful journals with Tangie genetics. It tasted great and would get you higher than hell, but it didn't grow well in my very limited space. If I could grow outdoors or under 600w LED's she'd probably do really well there, or it could have just been a bum seed. I only ran 3 of the 5 seeds and switched strains, didn't even try and run a second run, it just wasn't worth it.
