you have had plenty of time to spell out more of your inane, unproven theories (hence why they are GOP talking points), but no time it seems to deal with actual, concrete, real world examples.

also, one business that has gone under due to min wage increases would be nice while you're at it.

It looks like your numbers show they passed on some of it. It was not a huge increase, and wage costs only make up a fraction of what they need to charge and still turn a profit.

Competitive forces of the marketplace kept price in check because the fine folks who make whoppers want to sell some burgers too.

I am sure, however, their profit margins shrunk, you cannot increase your expences without losing profit margin if revenue does not increase as much as expense.

They still have some room left in that margin, though, to absorb reasonable increases in min wage.

I saw no data given for inflation rates. I doubt over a 3/4 year period inflation was 15%. I don't know, could be wrong, seems very high.

All other things being equal....

If wages go up, and the prie of a big Mac and inflation increase at the same amount, what happened to the profit margin?

I wasn't talking about labour. I said labor creates all wealth. All services are labors not only many.

I would say wealth creates labor. People work to create wealth, but how can you create something a thing that no one has? A river that has seven tributaries does not flow backwards without flooding a field or two along the way. And fish that normally swim against the current will be the real victims.

Australia's McBurgers do not pay Australia's minimum wage to all (or even most) of their employees due to the many ways around the "minimum" wage, and they use a different business model than McBurgers in the US.

beef costs are lower, taxes are lower (30% flat business tax vs 0-53% business tax in the US), and even without an "award" (exemption), if you hire a 16 year old you can pay them less than a quarter (24%) of the "minimum" wage (lulz), and yet their McBurgers are STILL more expensive than the US's.

numbers dont lie, but liars use numbers extensively.

before there was wealth, there was always labour.

AC is correct if you measure everything from it's genesis.

labour (hunting, gathering, fishing etc) is the first economic activity, SURPLUSES from those endeavours created the first Markets, and Markets begat Wealth.

however, these days you can create wealth without actually working to produce anything tangible or providing a service with actual value.

and we come right back to Whoring...
