Also in the worm bin I only add coffee grounds, banana peals, and crushed egg shells. Sometimes if they go bad I'll add a bagel (oy vey).
Ya, they like that stuff. Also, I always used to keep worms in my pots while plants were growing. To enhance aeration and add a little worm poop while they crawled around. I'd still feed the cornmeal and plants always loved it.
Hey, on your plants...the only thing I could recommend at this point is an emergency transplant into milder soil. It will be a little trauma to them, but will have a better chance of survival. I've used a warm water bath to wash off roots before going into the new soil.
For a short while, when switching to hydro...I was vegging in dirt and then washing off roots before going into hydro. It wasn't the best technique, but I was a hydro newbie. Plants were set back maybe a week while they recovered and grew more roots. Just be gentle. Good luck whatever you do...
