What do all you weed nerds use to prevent bud-worms?

I used Bt last year as well as Bs. I'm going to try to avoid them both this year. I made a frame out of PVC and covered it with pond netting. The insect screen is expensive, so I'm trying to get away with this 3/8 in. weave.yard 2 005.jpgyard 2 010.jpg

Not sure if the "brix" you're referring to is the same one I'm thinking of, but take a look at the label. If it has Paraquat, you may want to reconsider using it. It is for ornamentals only.

r you covering the whole frame ,, wall to ceiling with this netting.....(3/8in???) what would be the ideal weave size to keep out bug, but still allow great light in

the mix i was referring to was produced by peaceful valley farm supply. they discontinued it because the liquid part of the two part was blowing up in transit. i make my own brix mix now that conists of the following:

per 50 gallon drum foliar feed
1 LB PPD 15-1-1
400mL Humax
800mL Molasses
800mL Organic Malt extract
250mL JH BioTech Natural Wet
125mL Kelp Extract
1oz THAT

I bought a 28X28 ft. net that easily covers the 12X12 frame top to bottom but there are other sizes. I'm guessing that the 3/8 in. weave will keep the majority of the moths and butterflies out, I'll find out this year. I don't know what the ideal size would be but this net casts virtually zero shadow and lets all the sunlight in. It's an experiment. If it's going to be damp come flowering, I'll cover the frame with a plastic sheet. I have both Bt for worms and Bs for fungus on hand but if I can avoid them, it's better.

DONT WORRY THEY SELL SMALLER THAN 55 #'S FOR $1650

I am using 2 lbs of Cal Carb per 50 gallons with 500mL of JH BioTech Ful Mag & 1000mL of Humax and using ThermX70 as a Nonionic Surfactant every week. this spray is in in addition the brix mix (posted above) that is sprayed every other week.

Id like to point out that while it is not too late to use these sprays. its important too maintain high brix throughout the entirety of the season. Its a cumulative effect and when your plants are at max brix they take on a an almost blue hue. bless

What level is your Brix and how do you measure? Hand refractometer 0-32%?

so i was going through my light dep box and found some caterpillars going to work. they were mostly concentrated on the regulator kush (they tend to prefer the sweet smell i think). To counter this i applied conserve sc. This is agricultural grade spinosid. applied at a rate of .5 tsp per gal last evening. this morning it was like a nuclear bomb went off. all cats dead! While i do advocate maintaining high brix as a good preventative program. sometimes you are forced to use harsher actions.

Got them bad this year. Safer says to spray BT in evening as the sunlight kills the bacteria. Cloudy days are good also. Using Spinosad too, not sure if sunlight effects their lifecycle.
