What do you do when you grow too much weed?

First time grower here.

Problem: I grew too much weed.

I’m about to harvest 7-8 plants. WAY more than I can smoke or get rid of in the near term.

Should I go through the normal hang drying/curing process, take what I need for the next 2-3 months, and then just freeze the rest for later?

What’s the best (and most economical) way to do long-term storage? Any good threads on this? I’m seeing all sorts of advice.

Yah there are lots of similar posts if you use the search bar. I will say though, that I had the same problem and I just started growing less plants.

You can definitely grow too much weed, happens every year, and I give it away to people. And I also make a lot of hash.

It's actually a good idea to grow more than you need though in case someone around you has a crop failure. Last year my best friend's house burned down in a forest fire and he lost everything including his crop and all his stash. Because I grew too much I was able to help him out.

Dry ice hash >

15 grams of hash - decarb 240 F for 40 minutes
3 tablespoons of coconut oil
1 tablespoon lecithin
Heat 220 F for 20 minutes, Freeze, Reheat and it's done. Makes 90 (0) caps.

If you don't look at it as "too much" and start looking at it as back up, then the troubles of what to do with it or how to store it aren't big deals. I store mine under my bed in 1lb vacuum sealed bags with a boveda and not totally devoid of air, if it's outdoor it stays in the garage in 27-gallon totes that hold about 5lbs each.

you never know when the need arises for a bunch of cannabis

Man, that's a shit hand to be dealt. I'm with ya. I grow too much because I can and all my kin, blood or implant, know I got them covered and I'm still gifting the excess.

All my neighbors, family, friends and even employees at my local town stores stay high all year round with my help too..... I like to grow and 12 monsters outdoors make that happen :) I only need about 3 plants from outside to keep my house stocked up but it just feels wrong to not grow the max that the state of michigan allows us to grow at one time.

Some freeze, but jars keep for a couple of years just fine if stored in cool and out of light.
