Lava Butane
...they don't make it anymore

best bet is to locate your area tobacconist and ask for a top notch butane for your cigar torch lighter.
Claim to be tired of clogged lighters.

just make sure it don't smell 'bad'
pure butane doesn't smell...to humans anyways

EDIT: Cigarette stores do not have tobacconists any more than a salon has barbers...find a reputable cigar shop

lmao i hear ya there. got to be careful, and no smoking while maiking oil lol
I'll gladly take the hot errant coal down my shirt and kicking over my bucket over that Hiroshima hell any day of the week.

I also question the wisdom of using metal components to your extractor unit...sparks happen
if you must DIY and use metal instead of thick glass or pyrex then look for metal turkey basters...very nice
okief.com has a lovely extractor as well

as for ronson fuel, it's packed with Mercaptans/Sulfur Dioxide...is not so great to me...pure shit...tastes awful
pure butane can not be found available in stores, only through Gas Supply Companies.

Colibri Butane is a respectable contender for me
8 oz butane per oz of finely chopped herbage

if anyone finds a good brand let me know
Clean & affordable - http://www.kingbutane.com/proddetail.asp?prod=TL1010KG12

I use it on whole buds in a O'keif tube.
Crispy dried buds, used whole and packed very lightly.
I run 2 tubes of fresh bud that way.
Then break the buds apart, crumple into a course grind type mix and run one more time packed a bit more tightly (but NOT TOO TIGHT - blow-out).
The 2 whole buds that ran, just slightly overfills the tube for a final 2nd run.
Afterwards it's compost.
First 2 bud runs get a 1/2 can (+/-)
Final run gets a whole can (10 oz. of butane).
15 count of purge / 15 count of rest / 15 count of purge / etc. until done.

I did a quick peruse of the posts.... yep, making butter is EASY and you can put it into ANYTHING that calls for oil or butter in a recipe. I have used it in 'Duncan hines Mississippi Mud Pie', made my favourite cookies, and even spread it on my toast in the a.m. The KEY to making butter (so you are not chewing on 'lettuce'), is to strain the butter either through a sieve or using cheesecloth (though cheesecloth is HOT to handle at the end of your simmer).
I also like to use marijuana medicinally, and I have been making tincture with certain strains (purple kush especially as it is a 'heavier' indica). The tincture can be taken internally, or used for pain. People I have given it to have found relief from arthritis, and knee problems. I either add the tincture to a 'high in plant fat' lotion like Shea butter or something similiar, and then rub it into the affected area. Another way to use the tincture is to soak a piece of paper towel, place the towel over the affected part, wrap in saran wrap, and then add heat (like you would for a poultice).
Man, there are SOOOOOO many ways to use cannabis in recipes... one I want to try soon is to make 'cannabis lollipops'....!!!

tinture any guide to that process
Many, many ways to make tincs.
Basicly soak with alchohol, strain, reduce. The "particulars" make a big difference.
Some use ISO 99-70 %, I prefer Everclear, or veg oil in the finals.

My method is a bit more involved than what some may be willing to endue and would take a bit of tellin.

Probably another post in that direction wouldbe wise(?). You'll get a list of ways as long as your arm no doubt.

I will say I like it a lot in my morning coffee, but purely for medical reasons. The buzz / high is totally different than smoking. More mildly / semi psychodelic (in some ways). But last for hours with a fully functional high.
I too use it for arthritis(sp?), knee joints, back & leg pains in general. For pain & still functioning I think it's much better than smoking. But, that's purely from a medicinal point of view, not so much recreational highs.
I understand that it's the most effective relief from migranes. Don't know for sure as that's one of the problems I don't have -S.

Google "making tinctures" and you could be all set.

A lot like the dragon.

Tinc recipies -
"https://www.rollitup.org/cooking-cannabis/125137-alcohol-tincture.html" < click

How's that?

But, if you really want some killer tincs that taste great,,, try this;
Take some buds / sugar leaves that you're not too fond of and make some BHO from it. Process it as you normally would to remove all the butane.
Now here's the hard part (;-))

Put that BHO into a 1 or 2 oz eyedropper bottle, add your favorite flavor oil or alky to fill.
Set in hot water (double boiler style) until BHO disolves. Done. Just work out the dosage according to the link above.

Using everclear or vodka you can go to the grocery store and buy concentrated extracts (used for cooking) some examples that work are orange, grape, apple, maple, strawberry, etc. I've not tried it but you could probably use something like peppermint snapps, peach brandy, black Sambucca, etc.

Oils are nice if you don't like alky. Using peanut oil, coconut oil, even Mazola (I make some for a woman using garlic & red wine vinegarette) and add it to your salads in the evening meal.

I do the above because while liking the medicinal effect (nothing like smoking it) I honestly can't stomach the Dragon taste. My way eliminates all the chlorophill (SP?), nute, etc. flavor.

Nice thing is, it's so discreet you can use it in restraunts, cafes, or anywhere in public. It simply looks like you're taking your medicine to others.

Remember 2 things -
Your buds must be baked first (like above post, and they explain why)
Trichs / THCs ARE NOT water soluable. That's why we use alky and/or veg, oils.

Depending on how (what with) you mix it, it's very diversified as to use.
Oils can be used on salads, grinders /hoggies, on pancakes / french toast, cheeseburgers, speggetti, in stews / soups / chowders, etc. Just add it like a condoment.
Alkies can be mixed in drinks, on cakes, icecream, (bourbon burgers anyone?)

All you need do is put your dose on your meal and eat / drink / and enjoy. :eyesmoke: ;-)

Probably not something that a minimal grow or buying bud would work affordably with. If you take a liking to it, it can be hard on supplies.
However, for the medicinal user that doesn't want all that smoke all the time,, this allows medication without beating your lungs to death. (and its fun too - nice buzz) :weed:

i have been finding myself lately actually doing water cures for my consumables before i cook up butters/oil...
been working out great...flavor is nearly non existent & the color is a more nutty brown to light amber.
practically undetectable.

coconut oil infusions work great in gel caps if you have a flavor injector from thanksgiving taking up space.
it's basically a solid at room temp and body temp liquefies it...doesn't store in pill form to well though.
Got to make them as you need them really. the oil stays in the fridge.

makes damn fine massage oil to boot...fingers get all tingly...gloves advised.
