What do you think happens that moment your brain turns off?

You appear to be assuming that time is real and there is a before and after.

Time exists only in our conciousness, not in our universe.
The "Time Illusion" theory is unsupported and has a very weak basis for argument. Space-time however, is support by the Theory of Relativity.

light headed? Out of my mind? How about refreshed, like a breeze blowing through my skull.

I don't have a kitchen table, but I eat at the coffee table. Will that do? And, what caliber bullet? I'd be pretty fuckin' pissed if someone came in and fucked up my hairline and face... Are we talking point-blank, like bitch popped outta' the wall and dropped the barrel against my head? Or, are we talking 6-10 feet away, where a good hit is really unlikely. I have a DNR, so it's pretty trivial in the long run, but for sake of the scenario we kinda' need those details. What I would feel, given close range, high caliber? An instant of white hot, and then nothing, as neurons would cease firing, and my animated bag of meat would be without it's control box.

LoL, there are others out there that think similarly to you. Now ... Do you fear that nothing? You obviously think about it, and I contemplate it when the subject comes up... How do you START thinking about this subject? When the subject comes up, it triggers my mind, but, what triggered yours, to even think about it?

You said you have a great life, in your other thread of the same nature. Do you fear that you'll "miss it" once you are dead?

I have a minute of not needing to drive so will respond now.

I have been thinking of death for as long as I can remember. It is the single experience we will all share, there is no avoiding it. I've worked a job where death was a part of life, which made me even more obsessed with it. Even if there is not a single thing after the moment of death, death is still a moment we will experience.

I don't think about death out of fear of losing all I have, because at the moment of death nothing mattered or will matter.

I do think the best way to be taken out is in an end of world event. The chances of dying in ones lifetime is already known, but the chance of your lifetime coming to its conclusion as everything else's, is just magical.

You guys might wanna' look into narcissistic personality disorders... Kinda a god complex, assuming everything should die with you. Just sayin' ... :bigjoint:

In a philosophical way, everything DOES die, with EVERYONE. As you cease to be, everything ceases to be, to you.

When you say "you guys", you are including someone other than me right? I feel so narcissistic for even asking. :P

It would matter to me after the moment of death. Did I finnish everything, Did I let anyone down by not keeping my promises, Will my kids be able to thrive and prosper, Did I finnish my Will ? Things like that would keep me spinning in my grave !!

Yeah I don't have a dinner table either but I am sure when you die, if you are saved, that you would become a spirit out of body and go to heaven to the pearly gates. If not, you would get to meet Hitler and Stalin.
