what should my water ph be while growing in peat moss?

Usually around 6 and 6.5 I've seen people do everything from 5.8 to 6.8...for peat keep it around 6-6.5 at the highest you shouldnt have any problems

Although some may say different...what else are you using besides peat?

As in nutrients or soil? The soil is like 93 percent peat. It's a type of pro mix. As for nutrients I'm using down to earth 444 and gaia green 284 as dry amendments. I asked the main question because I'm getting small brown spots on my leaves and was wondering if I was cause buy my water ph

I don’t ph my water at all for peat / promix. I haven’t for years. The reason being that peat moss ph itself lives at 5.5 - 5.8. After mixing nutrients I was in the high 7 low 8 range and didn’t bother going down. Plants were all good.
What are you using to test soil ph?

I thought cal mag at first but hes using down to earth and that has dolomite
i only used down to earth when i first amended the soil before starting plants. one week ago i reamended 1 tbs per gal (5 gal, 5 tbs). this is week 2 of flower and only the plants in flower are showing these signs. im wondering if that wasnt enough nutes for them when i top dressed? also my water ppm is super low its like 38 or 39 ppm but i mixed azomite with water and gave them that and nothing happened to help them

Any new spots in your new growth ? I seen a down to earth fertilizer bag and you crossed my mind I thought I'd check in on you and the plant noob

You could try cal mag and see if it helps

IF it was a fungus like leaf septoria you could use neem oil and remove the infected foliage, rotate plants, improve airflow, wash your hands, maintain a clean grow space keep the humidity and temperature in check...prune every 7 -10 days to not add any stress to the plant....give it recovery time and I still would check my ph...let us know whats happens...im not exactly sure what it is but I'd start trying some the things mentioned above ESPECIALLY IF ITS SPREADING.

yes it has got way worse.
im starting to thank that the issue is due to over watering and compact soil so ill be cutting back the amount of water i give them and adding in gypsum to try to loosen the soil alittle.
i also bought a blue lab ph pen for soil just in case thats the actual issue. but ima almost sure its due to over watering

Overwatering doesn't cause brown spots. What was the result of the soil pH test?

Adding more variables is a terrible idea. Why add gypsum... It's not overwatering or soil compaction.

Your issue is likely from using just dry amendments with a soilless mix. Some people do it but many more have issues. Plants nutrient requirements go up significantly when they start flowering which is why that's typically when you'll have issues.

I wouldn't screw around with top dressing amendments that are going to take some time to become available to the plants. It sounds like you are trying to do organic. If so then Down To Earth makes a liquid fertilizer.

So the soil ph in all plants were under 5.3.

But I WAS going to add gypsum if ph was fine because I thought spots were from calcium and because gypsum supposedly loosens soil.

I will look into them for sure!
