Is a 20 ton press really worth it for the price over the 10 or 12 ton presses?
So I am looking to make the jump up to a pneumatic press from The Nug Runner for bigger applications during busier times like fall harvest/etc. I have been doing research and I am not sure if it is worth it to get a 20 ton. I have 5x3 LowTempPlates and of course a sufficient air compressor; I just need the press itself which I am only willing to spend $500-600 on at the moment.
I understand that these presses really should not be pushed to capacity and I have been told that, at least for the medium sized presses and up, you should keep at around 50-60% capacity to preserve the press & etc.
If what I have learned from these individuals is true about capacity, is it even worth it to pay for twice the press whilst only getting an additional 3-5 tons extra? My guess would be that those few tons won't show me too much extra in yield or much else.
I have two on my list so far (links below). Any input would be extremely appreciated as I am trying to get a press on Cyber Monday in a couple of days. Is the Dake or Black Widow better? Is it worth it? Is there a press you recommend that is at least 10 tons and pneumatic capable?
