What y'all know about Des Moines, Iowa?

More skywalks and jello consumption per capita than anywhere else in USA. Nice people who will help strangers. Not a lot to do compared to Cali.

I just remembered if you go down to the Drake campus area you can have some fun. University Ave or something like that. There are some good bars and hangouts but I haven't been down there since 1968 (when the acid was good). lol

Well, made it back in one piece. Des Moines was actually a pretty cool place. The vast majority of the people I met were super friendly and didn't even razz me much about being from Cali. They had plenty of questions, for sure. Like "Why would you live in Cali?", "Do y'all have any good fishing and hunting?", "Would you like some venison?", "Why haven't y'all lynched Leland Yee? ", "You mean to tell me that there are actually conservative leaning people in California? ", "Could ya bring some of that California weather when you come back?", "Why didn't you bring warmer clothes? Want to borrow a warmer jacket?".

Seriously, some very good, down to earth friendly people. Got invited to come back for hunting, fishing, BBQ and to attend the Iowa state fair. Like, 3 different people offered to put my wife and I up in their homes to make the visit more affordable. And by golly, I think I am going to take them up on their offer.

Frickin' cold out there.

I spent the first 21 years of my life growing up in the NW corner of Iowa.

Now I live a little closer to Des Moines, Washington. ; )

They were OK movies. Ala The Omen.

But yeah, smoking weed with friends was better IMO.

Yeah but it ain't bad like right between May 15 and June 30. Other than that it gets really sticky and humid and buggy.
