What's this called

Has any one seem this before.
When the seed was made on the plant it was stressed and imperfect mitosis/meosis happened.

It will revert to normal but if your tent induces stress it will carry on.

This stuff can happen not from seed and we call it whorled phylotaxy.

All the same and all from stress, did i mention most have lights too close or overly windy :-)

Trifoliate mutation
Not to be confused with ploidy (triploidy).

Trifoliate describes three leaves and is not a genetic trait whereas triploidy is a mutation that can generate super mutations and has zero to do with three leaves rather extra chromosomes (i think, some can google and correct).

So far ploidy is a myth in cannabis, not so hemp i think and how they get giant melons etc etc.

Mucho reading :-)

Sorry guys but these statements are incorrect!

Trifoliate describes a type leaf of a plant that grow that particular leaf.
Trifoliate leaves (also known as trifoliolate or ternate leaves) are a leaf shape characterized by a leaf divided into three leaflets.
This IS VERY MUCH genetic!

NOW THIS IS BETTER!

This stuff can happen not from seed and we call it whorled phylotaxy.
whorled phylotaxy

It is a result of a recessed gene becoming active, creating a change in hormone expression. The hormone involved is AUXIN.
It has to do with how much auxin is being delivered to the meristem.
There are plants that normally express this way. It is a expression of a Fibonacci number and can vary quite widely (simply look at a spiral Aloe plant. Scientific name is Aloe polyphlla)

So then,
The term "trifoliate" does NOT apply at all here!

The term WHORLED PHYLOTAXY is correct!

KIND, you had it in your hand....and dropped it...

I guess thats where we differ and i do differ to you on quite a few things :-)

 Yes we do...

But, I suggest you re-read the facts on this......Even Wiki will work....

Simply put, trifoliate leaves are 3 leaves coming from one petiole.....Botanical FACT....

Also a Botanical Fact.

There is a Botanical list of Trifoliate plants. Cannabis is NOT on that list...

As for my genetic explanation..Again, scientific fact....

sorry my friend
