What about going from upper 70*F under the lights to 60* in the dark? Thanks.
imo, i'd think you're cool where you're at, pun intended ofo course, lol...Cutting back a little on the exhaust fan and turning the other fan off raised the temp to 59. Don't worry about that? I could add space heater. Or stop fretting.
great advice m8, i hadn't even thought of insulating the grow at all for some odd reason, lol.. but now you bring it up, i know they sell that insulation stuff in big 4 x 8 sheets like plywood, and it's silver on one side or maybe even both, been awhile since i've worked with it, and it has some insulation in the middle.. this stuff would be great for your space by the sounds of it.. not sure if it's the same stuff that hollywoods talking about or not, but my stuff sounds a lil different to me, although i'm sure both would work fine..Stop fretting. You're good. What type reflective lining are you using? Something that would help if you aren't already using it would be a product called Reflectix, available from Menards, Lowes, etc. At Menards around me it's $30 for a 4ftw x 25ftl roll. It's literally a big sheet of bubble wrap with Mylar on both sides. Uber reflective and it insulates. Works great for basement/underground/colder area grows.
That is what I do! My exaust fans kick off with the lights and the circ fans stay on 24/7 and I don't have any issues with temps or humidity. my rooms are round 75 on and 65 off.yah, try and cut the exhaust back some, or possibly even turning off the fans when the lights are out, that's how i roll, lol.. this way it tends to keep what heat built up when the lights were on in the tent, or in my case, closet, and will prevent them from dropping too much ime..
I'm in a tent. I have the Reflectix on the floor in addition I have about 6" of foam they're sitting on. This is my first grow and so far the lights have been on 24. If I don't have to worry about 58 then I won't. Thanks for the help.Stop fretting. You're good. What type reflective lining are you using? That is different stuff, although it works great as well. Johns Manville is a popular brand of what you're talking about Racerboy, I am extremely familiar with it as it's what the walls and ceiling in my garage are insulated with. A few issues with using it for a grow area that I can think of, 1. It's straight up insulation, and I believe it will retain a little more heat than you'd probably want, one of the reasons I used it in the garage, and 2. the dust and particles it will make every time your bump it probably aren't the most beneficial to growing lol The big benefit with reflectix is that it insulates via a cushion of trapped air that retains it's temp due to the reflective properties of the mylar in which it's sandwiched. The stuff is the only thing I'll use for my grow areas. An additional benefit is that it holds it's form and therefor only takes a few minutes to lay a piece on the bare floor, tape four pieces together vertically for four walls, lay a piece across the top as a ceiling, poke a hole in the top, hang a few cfls through it, tape all edges with aluminum duct tape, and presto! Air tight, light tight, fully insulated grow space, easy to modify for cords, wires, fans etc with nothing more than aluminum tape, a razor blade, and a tape measure.great advice m8, i hadn't even thought of insulating the grow at all for some odd reason, lol.. but now you bring it up, i know they sell that insulation stuff in big 4 x 8 sheets like plywood, and it's silver on one side or maybe even both, been awhile since i've worked with it, and it has some insulation in the middle.. this stuff would be great for your space by the sounds of it.. not sure if it's the same stuff that hollywoods talking about or not, but my stuff sounds a lil different to me, although i'm sure both would work fine..
Nothing like a little perspective!Snap, i just read this in another thread where someone was asking if 30 degrees lights off was too cold.
